Frank really hit his stride on this and the next album "Apostrophe". He found his best guitar tone and the personel in this band gave him the ability to play anything he wanted to in any idiom ie. rock, hard rock, jazz, funk, and blues. These folks jammed! I am old enough to say that I heard this band live on several occasions and they are fondly remembered as A top ten of the best live music I have ever heard. Recommended.
Free Music Review: I'm Glad, I'm Smile Hit: 5 Stars
It's a funny album. I have a vinyl copy (Warner Bros.) of this amazing album, it's full of Zappaish aura and i like his fantastic cover too. If you are'nt in the mood, buy it and Play, From songs Camarillo Brillo to Montana it gaves you strong impression with grate guitar work from Frank and band playing. Listen to the grate and original voice of Frank Zappa, it sensational, and minded, full of strange stories.

First song I ever heard by Frank Zappa was Montana and am I glad i heard that song first because everysong on this album is as good as each other just in different ways. Not one weak track one this one. Now i'd suggest this is a essential to your collection because it's got all of the Frank Zappa elements in it.

Free Music Review: Essential Zappa Hit: 5 Stars
this is great stuff. from the same sessions as apostrophe - these two albums belong together. this is zappa at his darkest, most twisted, inspired period.
It is Zappa's first jaunt into mainstream. No it is not the Jazz side, but neither was Freak Out. This was my introduction to FZ, it is raunchy, but I still find it hilarious and I love Frank's guitar.
