What an amazing talent. So sad that he's gone. This was Frank Zappa at his best in the 1970's. The band's tight, the recording is perfect. And then there's Frank. The funny stuff is really funny (Punky's Whips, The Illinois Enema Bandit) and the guitar is unmatched (The Black Page, I Promise.) The remastered sound is great--has a real kick to it. Zappa fans probably already have this, but the curious to learn what Frank Zappa was like live could do no better than this album.Free Music Review: There was nobody like FZ

Nobody played guitar like FZ, nobody wrote music like FZ, nobody could do biting satire like FZ. I was fortunate to hear him live twice-1980 at Richfield Coliseum near Cleveland & what turned out to be his final tour in Columbus in 1988(60 Minutes was filming the show}.
The music on this album covers a lot of sides of Zappa. And with guests like Randy Brecker on trumpet & his brother the late Michael Brecker on sax you can't go wrong. And don't forget Don Pardo!

Live albums don't always sound as good as the studio version or give you the excitement of actually being there. This album is the exception! It's a great selection of songs and the musicians show their love for the audience, the music and their love and respect for Frank, by playing to their fullest abilities and enjoying themselves.
