Free Music Review: Great lullabies - very soothing

We purchased this CD when we were pulling our hair out with a colicky baby. When we were losing our minds at 6 months after about 5.5 months of terrible nights, we bought this and started establishing a good bedtime routine. It took about a month or so to take hold, but this CD became a part of our nightly ritual. He finally slept through at 7.5 months old and has been a great sleeper ever since.
He is FIVE years old now, nearly six. And we still play the CD every night. I love this CD. When he was a baby we kept a copy in the car too to play when he was having some trouble on long trips. It worked like a charm then. We would joke that we would play it when he was 18, and it's kind of looking like that might be true! I have a 8 month old now and I'm going to play it for him as well.

This CD is the best group of lullabys. I used this CD for my son as an infant straight through his toddler years when he "outgrew" listening to lullabys as he slept. When his sisters were born I played it for them at bedtime and it always relaxed them into dreamland. About 6 months ago, my youngest daughter broke the cd. My girls suddenly became terrors at night. I finally figured out it was the CD that helped them sleep (I'm a little slow and thick) and ordered a new one. From the first night the new CD arrived, it has worked and bedtime has become a joy again. I ordered both this CD and volume 2 last year for my son, expecting to be disappointed because I really wanted the actual versions of the songs from Disney movies. I am SO glad I ordered them anyway and I was not disappointed in the least. I would sit rocking my son who was sound asleep with these CDs on just to sit and look at him and love him. I just ordered both of them for a friend who just found out she is pregnant and just hearing the samples made me tear up a little. Now that my son in 16 months old, he reaches over the edge of the crib and pushes "Play" himself!!! We still sit and cuddle to this music sometimes and he loves it just as much as I do. My 3.5 year old started having trouble going to sleep. Her imagination had her turning the everyday creaks and bumps of the house into frightening thoughts. A fiend suggested some music and a little more lighting to the room where my two girls sleep. I was sceptical about whether music would help her to sleep or have her humming along and waking her little sister. This CD was perfect! Its soft tones and sweet melodies have greatly improved our bedtime routine. I also added some star projection lighting and a lavender air freshener to the room for the complete sleep spa experience. We received this CD a few years ago when my daughter was born (she is now 4 years old), and it has proven to be a true gem! Now, let me be clear: I do not like Muzak, or cover songs, or drippy icky syrupy songs.... and this CD is none of those things. It really is the perfect thing to put baby (and Mommy) to sleep. The songs are well-chosen: not just typical lullaby tunes, but songs that adults can enjoy (the Beatles "I Will", for example). What's more, they are well-performed: gentle and sweet, without being saccharin-y. I actually have these loaded on my iPod! Now my son falls asleep with this CD every night. You will fall in love with it too.
