While the songs on this collection are well done, and Freddy is in reasonably good voice, make no mistake -- these are live "remakes" (from God-knows-when -- the set has essentially no annotation) and not the originals. For the real hits from the mid-seventies, you'll need to go elsewhere.

Freddy Fender is best known for his solo '70s hits plus his tenure in the Texas Tornadoes, amongst other projects. His death at the age of 69 in late 2006 has saddened the music community, but Fender left behind a rich musical legacy that will continue to please his legion of fans as well as new listeners as each year passes.
