Free Music Notes for The Pianist: Music from the Motion PictureFree Music Review: War vs. Artistry Hit: 5 Stars
It tears at your psyche like no film has in a long time. The Pianist is appealing on so many different levels. The beauty of the music that Szpilman uses to keep himself alive set against the backdrop of the most horrific scenes of human degradation imaginable. This film puts Polanski on a whole new level of filmmaker, easily surpassing Speilberg's Schindler's List in quality of sets, locations, editing, musicianship - everything! It is authentic in that Polanski uses mainly Polish craft workers in the production. Highly recommended!
Free Music Review: I love it regardless the movie or the book Hit: 5 Stars
I haven't watch the movie because I missed a chance. I did read the book after I listened to this CD. I love it regardless the movie or the book.I love Nocturne in C-sharp Minor best. After I did read the book, this melody becomes more impressive, because it was the melody that Szpilman played for Captain Hosenfeld in ruined Warsaw. I am surprised to know that it is Ballade No.1 in G Minor that Szpilman played for Hosenfeld in the movie. I won't say Ballade No.1 not good, but I wonder why the change.
Free Music Review: The Pianist Hit: 5 Stars
I almost didn't order this CD when I read one review here about it being "butchered" lol...but I went ahead anyway, since I love this music. I am a pianist and play almost everything on the CD, so was absolutely delighted to find that I do love this CD and am so glad I did order it - I personally find the performances/interpretations just wonderful. I love playing the 1st Ballade especially and thought this rendition was brilliant. Hope this helps someone.
Free Music Review: a haunting movie, a haunting soundtrack Hit: 5 Stars
I was fortunate to be able to see The Pianist back in Sept when I was visiting Poland. The movie and music left me mesmerized. It is truly an amazing story of survival by this man and ultimately the music does help save his life. The soundtrack showcases the work of Fredrick Chopin, probably one of the most famous composers to come out Poland. His melodies are haunting and remain with you long after they are over, very much like the movie.

I was able to find it quickly and it was well illustrated so that I was sure that I was ordering the cd that I wanted.I also found a cd of the pianist himself who the film "The Pianist" was about . I also ordered that and recieved it with the same prompt, efficient service.
