Free Music Notes for From My HeartFree Music Review: I'd give this fifty stars if I could Hit: 5 Stars
Whilst I admire and appreciate any and all of the operatic "greats" it always seemed to me that the required vocal technique for singing opera made for quite a lot of "sameness" in the way voices and songs sounded. The person on the male side who changed that perception for me was Andrea Bocelli. As far as female performers went, well, I did have, and still have, a particular fondness for Sarah Brightman, and more recently "Sasha and Shawna." It was because of my fondness for Sasha and Shawna that I acquired the "Heavenly Voices" DVD Heavenly Voices, but, as I proceeded through that PBS Concert Special, it was Giorgia Fumanti that stole the show and stole my heart.
Yes, Giorgia Fumanti has "the" heavenly voice (for me) - with a range and quality and rendition I've never experienced before, but more than that, I've never heard any singer who has struck me as singing more "From My Heart" than Giorgia. Every word, every phrase, sung with loving attentiveness to the "detail" that it must elevate and delight the listener.
I've listened to "From My Heart" almost every day since I got it, and, far from getting "old" or "familiar," every time I listen I listen is a sort of disbelief that anybody - anybody - can sing like that.
Free Music Review: Heavenly, Romantic, Beautiful Hit: 5 Stars
Soothing to the soul, romantic and the voice of an angel!
Giorgia sings with a wonderful voice range, yet seemingly effortless. It is as if she is personally conversing with you. She will tenderly grab your attention and your heart. Maybe her style could be thought of as a pleasant mixture between the best of opera and classical, with a contemporary touch.
"Your Love" expresses to me her beauty and excellence of voice. What an introduction to the CD! "Peace of Heaven" sends a divine atmosphere. "A Rose among Thorns" is so melodically soothing to the soul. My favorite is "Campi d'Oro" - tender, romantic. "Volero" concludes the songs - it leaves me with feelings of flying through the heavens without a care in the world.
Don't just take my word on Giorgia, check her CD out for yourself. You'll be glad you did!
Free Music Review: Awesome!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I recently found out about Giorgia Fumanti through some friends of mine that live in Japan and they saw her performing with the Twelve Girls Band from China. The Twelve Girls Band and Giorgia just completed a concert tour in Japan and are now headed for the USA. They will be here through October 2007 and I for one cannot wait to see the show here in Atlanta. This CD has now become one of my favorites and I do listen to it all the time. Giorgia does have a very beautiful voice and I know that if you buy this CD you will feel the same as I do. The music is fantastic and Giorgia singing just makes each song that much more beautiful. Very, very relaxing and I do hope that everyone who buys this CD will find out what a beautiful voice Giorgia does possess.
Free Music Review: Classical Xover Poobah Hit: 5 Stars
Stunning, stunning, stunning! I've listened to this CD for about 6 months and it just gets better. This is classical crossover at its best, period! Giorgia has a voice and style that is easily the equal of Sara Brightman, Meav, Haley Westenra, Sissel or Lisa Kelley, the other "greats" of crossover vocals.
This CD is also spectacular because of the choice of music, the masterful production and recording processes. Every song is absolutely stunning and most are songs not commonly recorded.
There is a lot of "junk" music out there to wade through. But, if you love beautiful, non-dissonant music, this CD is as good as it gets.
All that is needed is more of her recordings!
Free Music Review: One of the Heavenly Voices Hit: 5 Stars
This CD will raise your consciousness! Every cut is very good and some are spectacular. I can play it over and over without getting tired of it and wake up in the morning days later with one of the songs playing in my head.
I'm not a fan of opera per se, but Giorgia shows what a classically trained voice can do with pop tunes and some inspirational songs like "Piece of Heaven," and "A rose among thorns."
I would never have heard of her but for a promotional CD sent with "Celtic Woman, Deluxe." Highly recommended.
