Free Music Review: The Lover Soundtrack...

The Lover is my favorite "foreign" film. I bought the DVD several years ago, and just bought the soundtrack this summer. I can listen to "A Kiss on the Window" b/w "Blue Zoon" and "The Lover" all day. The music just takes me to Colonial Vietnam and the times Marguerite Duras lived (and loved). I find the actual recording adequate, the quality good. Could it be improved? Certainly! If they ever make a 'gold disc' edition, I'll plunk down the bucks to buy it! Five Stars for this "Lover!"
(Updated 07-15-2006: After 13 years of watching "The Lover" based on Marguerite Dumas's non-fictional account of her affair with an gentleman of Asian extraction, I have finally found the music to which our young French girl surrends her tears (at the end of the movie!) The music, is Chopin's Waltz in B Minor, Opus 69, No. 2!! Ashkenazy's rendition is just icing on the cake!! Five stars!!)
