Free Music Notes for Garden State

Free Music Review: Zach Braff REALLY knows what rocks.
Hit: 5 Stars

The soundtrack CD to Zach Braff's "Garden State" pulls an impressive double coup: simultaneously it's one of the best movie soundtrack CDs of recent years and also one of the best rock music compilations. There isn't a single dud song on this disc, and several of them--such as "In the Waiting Line" (Zero 7), "I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You" (Colin Hay), "Blue Eyes" (Cary Brothers), "One of These Things First" (Nick Drake), "Such Great Heights" (Iron and Wine), and "Let Go" (Frou Frou) have become favorites of mine. Braff also does music listeners everywhere a vital service by reviving "The Only Living Boy in New York," probably the least known of the truly great Simon & Garfunkel songs. The soundtrack to "Garden State" is not only great listening on its own, but it succeeds spectacularly in doing what every soundtrack CD ought to do: it makes me want to see the movie again.

Free Music Review: The best soundtrack ever created..
Hit: 5 Stars

This beautiful collection of songs will surely make you feel happy and warm inside time and time again. It's the kind of music I like to listen to while drinking coffee and driving to work in the mornings. Some of my favorite songs are Coldplay-Don't Panic, The Shins-Caring is Creepy, Iron and Wine-Such Great Heights, Colin Hay-I don't ever think I'll get over you, Remy Zero-Fair, and Frou Frou-Let Go. A few of the bands that I've never heard of before buying the cd led me to download more and more of their music. I've found that Remy Zero, Frou Frou, and Iron and Wine have other beautiful songs as well. I highly reccomend that you buy this Cd and then download some of the bands' other stuff as well...you won't be dissapointed. Without this Cd I wouldn't have discovered some of the most beautiful songs that I've ever heard in my life. This Cd will stay with you, I promise.

Free Music Review: A wonderful soundtrack to one of the best movies of the year
Hit: 5 Stars

The Garden State soundtrack has a variety of songs that fit the movie perfectly. The Coldplay track Don't Panic is a pretty song about how people can rely on each other when times get tough. Caring is Creepy by The Shins is such a great track. This song is a reminder that we should always try to be honest with ourselves and live our lives the best way we can. I also enjoyed the track I Just Don't Think I'll Get Over You by Collin Hay. It is a beautiful song about how hard it is to get over someone you love so much. There are so many other tracks I like especially One of These Things First. This is a very soothing song about all the qualities you want in a friend like being loyal and supportive. I really enjoyed the techno dance sound of the track Let Go by Frou Frou too. This is a wonderful soundtrack to one of the best movies of the year.

Free Music Review: LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This was such a wonderful surprise. I rented it from the new releases, and discovered one of my all-time favorite movies. I bought it, and the soundtrack, and a CD from one of the soundtrack artists (Frou Frou)

Zach Braff is amazing. The writing is soooo good. The directing just as good, and the casting and acting are incredible. It couldn't have been better. Especially Natalie Portman. I cannot recommend this movie highly enough.

The quirkiness is just right, and the poignancy is beyond just touching. Wonderful humor mixed with just enough of the kind of pain and discomfort to which we can all relate.

I hope to see more of Zach's work (forgive the familiarity, please, Mr. Braff.) in the near future. He is much more than an actor on a sit-com.

Don't miss this movie.

Free Music Review: Great introduction to new alternative and indie bands
Hit: 5 Stars

My first exposure to this CD was at dusk, driving around with a friend, the volume cranked. I was entranced by the mood of the songs, and I kept suspecting that with each song change, the beautiful tone of the evening would be ruined. But every single song was marvelous; so different, yet flowing seamlessly into the ones before and after.

I love music, but I haven't yet put out the effort to involve myself in the indie scene, so just hearing fantastic selections from The Shins makes this album worth owning. I haven't researched the song selection on this soundtrack and I've never seen the movie, so I'm approaching it uneducatedly and I LOVE it.

Honestly, every song is magnificent, but I'll go with "Caring is Creepy," "New Slang," and "Let Go" as the highlights.

Fantastic chill CD.
