Free Music Review: Garth does it again!
Hit: 5 Stars

It is refreshing and inspiring to see an artist willing to take risks, to extend his wings, and explore new paths. It seems that every time Garth releases a new album, it leaps forward into new territory. Though all of his albums have been hugely succesful, he has continued run full steam ahead. I've seen too many other artists who have had a succesful album, play it safe, and continue to put out the same kind of music, over and over again. Not Garth. Give him credit. He does chase his dreams. Some critics have called this latest album a "marketing scheme" or a "mid-life crisis". I disagree. I think it is a natural progression for an artist who doesn't believe in building walls around himself or his music. I found "In the life of Chris Gaines" to be refreshing, fun, and a great display of musical diversity. I eagerly await his next project.

Free Music Review: Take this cd on it's own merits. No comparisons necessary.
Hit: 5 Stars

Wow! My father and I both loved this CD. We have several G.B albums between us, but WOW! Don't go at this cd thinking to compare it to someone else, another style of music, musical heritage, or think of it as someone just trying to sell albums. Who cares. If someone has this type of music to get out... LET THEM!! The quality of the songs (yes, you can hear the words and relate) is superb. It's also just plain fun to listen to.

On the other hand, give credit to any artist who has the courage to switch genres the way Garth has. You didn't seriously think everyone would be happy? This society lives by pigeon-holing (sp?) people. They are happiest when you fit into their category. Some of the best things ever done have been when people have gone against what is expected of them! Congratulations Garth Brooks on having the courage to produce this amazing group of songs.

Free Music Review: A.K.A. Garth Brooks... AWESOME!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is one of my favorite cds I Liked Garth a lot but before this cd came out I really did not buy any of his cds. He has such range in his voice, I really did not believe it was Garth. I thought it was a new artist. That just shows how much talent this man has! I will deffiently buy the rest of his other cd. The tracks to look at are Track 1. That's the way I remember it Track 2. Lost in You Track 4. Driftin' Away Track 8. Right Now Track 11. Digging for Gold Track 12. Maybe. These are the stand outs! I can't wait till the movie comes out! Chris Gaines is here to stay and if you don't like Garth give this cd a chance, it's different and more Pop than his other gig. My opinion is that Garth(Gaines), should do another Chris Gaines cd. Give this guy a whole new life... To end it all Great Music... Great Artist... and last of all just a great album... BUY IT!

Free Music Review: classic tunes here...
Hit: 5 Stars

I know that there's tons of reviews and most people just skin through 'em, but please read this one. I'll try to make it short as possible. I heard "Right Now" on the radio and it said it was by Chris Gaines and it didn't settle in my head that it was Garth until i saw the cd cover. I bought the album for that song and I'm amazed that there's much better tunes on this album. Songs like "that's the way I remember it", "driftin' away", "way of the girl", and one of my favourites, "unsigned letter". These songs may have fictional backrounds, but this is emotion. This is entriguing, this is GREAT! He really shows his "roots" in this album. And I hope Garth keeps on living in the life of Chris Gaines. Another thing that blows me away is tht my older bro loves Garth Brooks, but i love Chris Gaines...strange eh?

Free Music Review: A perfect Entrance into the New Millennium
Hit: 5 Stars

I was wondering what type of music we could expect in the new Millennum. Garth (Chris Gaines) has done it. Only Garth could take a song from the 60's (Right Now), take a cool song from the late 80's (We didn't start the fire) and wrap them all up in a style that will send us in to the next century. In this Cd, Garth kind of takes us down a memory lane. All the songs remind us of one or two or three or more of our favorite artists of this decade. Its fun to say "yea that sounds like a Paul McCartney song" and remember where and when and what we were doing when that style of music was around. But yet Garth puts a freshness to that sound and makes it a style of its own and one that is definetly made for the next decade. Thanks Garth! See you in 2000 and Yes YOU set the Path and I feel like its going to be a fun and exciting Time
