Free Music Review: THIS TRULY IS GARTH BROOKS!!

I have most of Garth's studio CDs at home, and they're all cool, of course. However, I just love the Double Live CD, because it sounds so much more realistic. I think it was an awesome idea to include Jimmy Mattingly's fiddle solo at the begining of "The Fever". I have read some comments, saying that they didn't like the "poor sound quality". I disagree. One of my favorite tracks within the album set is "Papa Loved Mama", and I think the different sound I heard was much better because it gave you that live feel. I attended Garth's concert in April 1997 at Albany's Pepsi Arena, and I enjoyed his live show so much more than his regular CDs because of the different sound. When a band member occasionally misses a note or something like that I think it's a more true representation of the music than a "studio perfect" version of the song. Way to go Garth for bringing us this awesome collection! I highly recommend this CD set even if you have every other album.Free Music Review: there's only one Garth

Ten years ago, my aunt visited Fan Fair and came back all excited about this new artist by the name of Garth Brooks.Not being a country music fan myself, my reaction was (with a sneer) what on earth is a Garth? Since that time I have come to truely appreciate the diversity, range, and sincereity of the man and his music. This CD is really the next-best thing to being at a Garth concert. While some might feel that the "fans" detract from the music, all that noise is a big part of Garth "Live".As I listen to this CD, I get "goosebumps", my heart races and I shed a few tears to "The Dance","Unanswered Prayers", and "The River". Garth"s ability to connect with the people is what makes him the man, and star that he is. If you've never had the opportunity to see Garth,or want to perhaps "re-live"that feeling of being there--then this is the CD to own. Go Garth!Free Music Review: there's only one Garth

Any time you buy an album of George Strait or Clint Black, you pretty much know what you're getting. But when you get a Garth Brooks album, it's like a box a cracker jacks: you never know exactly what the toy surprise is going to be. The only thing you know is that it is going to be a pure treat!! This new Double Live album is exactly that. Aside from the fact that you get a few new songs ("Your Song" is outstanding) you get the special treat of the crowds. No artist can move a crowd to cheers or to tears like Garth Brooks. Just listening to thousands of fans singing "The Dance" is enough to make anyone want to grab their family and hold-on until the song is over. If you are not a Garth Brooks fan, this album will make you one. And if you are already a Garth fan, this album will make you nostalgic and proud to say, "I was listening to him way back when." Anyone who is a Garth Brooks fan, whether you've been to a concert or not, will get lost in the emotion and the fun this country legend exudes when playing before a live audience. How many times have we heard these songs? And how many albums do we have the same songs over and over? In my opinion not enough. Garth delivers more than lyrics and music. He delivers memories and emotions and gives his audience the feeling of being a part of his life. One of the new songs, "Your Song" is a tribute to the fans and their meaning in his life. Hearing him get choked up on this song may seemed "fake" or "overdone" to music critrics, but his fans know that its sincere and coming from a man with a heart as big as Texas. A Garth Brooks concert, whether in person or on CD, is an experience, not to be forgotten easily. And this CD allows the listener to feel that excitement over......and over....and over....
