Free Music Review: The King Of Music!
Hit: 5 Stars

Garth Brooks is the greatest recording artist in music history. While some claim he never recaptured the magic of his first five albums, I disagree, "Sevens" was one of the best country albums of all time (released in 1997), and "Fresh Horses" was also pretty neat. (Tracks from these albums aren't included here).

If you can pick up a copy of "The Hit's" and haven't got his first five albums, then it may be well worth it, however copies are now selling for up to $100 to collectors, so it might be better off just buying his first five CD's, which are Garth Brooks (1989), No Fences (1990), Ropin' The Wind (1991), The Chase (1992) and In Pieces (1993), all of which are classic albums.

After you get them (or this hit's collection) and find yourself wanting more Garth, get Fresh Horses (1995) and Sevens (1997), Garth also has two Christmas albums, "Beyond The Season" and "The Magic Of Christmas", that are also worth getting.

My favorite Garth songs, at least from this hit's collection, are "Friends In Low Places", "Standing Outside The Fire", "American Honky Tonk Bar Association" and "The River".

Garth brought a new edge to country throughout the '90s, with a great live show and pop-rock influences, but he never forgot his home.

Another stand out cut is the gospel-folk tinged "We Shall Be Free", which is an even better statement that John Lennon's "Imagine".

This is the greatest of greatest hit's albums!

Free Music Review: i know good music when i hear it
Hit: 5 Stars

i'm not a big garth brooks fan, but i am crazy about his #1 hits. it's incredible how songs recorded as far as 1989 still have an impact today, and are still played in weddings and graduations. see, in itself a song involves much. like the songs that come before the ones you really like. that's what makes an album special. the awaiting. that's why there's nothing better than the original, but when you don't feel like buying so many albums, this is the one! i first heard about 'the dance' and other garth songs back in 1995. i 'wasn't there' when those albums came out, so this is why i would prefer to buy 'the hits.' we saw him here live at south padre island, tx...he was da'bomd! we've never had anything like that here! although i couldn't attend because we were to have a final exam review the next morning, so i watched it on tv. i can't believe garth was niceee enough to come and help out our economy when the bridge collapsed....and for caring about our little town, you are loved garth brooks, thank you.

Free Music Review: Good For Beginners
Hit: 5 Stars

Don't get me wrong, I love The Hits, that is why it got 5 stars from me. However, If you know all these songs, and like them, then get it only as a starting point in your collection. Although every song on here is great, it is not the best from Garth. The true power lies in the unreleased cuts on the albums from where The Hits are taken. I almost wish there was a "could've been the hits" disc made, with great cuts from preivious albums such as "Every Now And Then", "The Cowboy Song", "Wolves", etc.

If you're just beginning to discover Garth, don't stop with The Hits. Pick up a couple normal releases, and you'll see what I mean....

Free Music Review: Seamless musical perfection
Hit: 5 Stars

Garth Man serves the people. As a country mega-icon there are no disappointments in this "The Hits" musical compilation. It's one blessed ride as Garth takes us down life's real road. Not only do Garth's people remember where we were when each song debuted, but we tie in our on personal flashbacks to magnify the emotions called Garth's music.

"The Hits" with its universal appeal is not for those looking for a mediocre experience. The entire collection is a journey. We have worn completely through our first copy. My 3 children know every word to every "Hits" song and it isn't because I forced them to listen.
