Free Music Review: Utter Perfection

It's damn amazing how this band has impressed me, A lot. Ribbons And Sugar was an excellent sophomore album, following up their debut, Why We Fight (I might give it a listen, but I at least want hear In The Land Of Lost Monsters), Volcano is pretty much a perfect album. Volcano doesn't have as many passages and doesn't change as much as Ribbons And Sugar, but it boasts more ideas than ever, and every passage sounds like it took creativity. It feels so complete, and for it's album length, the fact that it has a lot of memorable moments make it even better.
So what exactly is this record like, though more in depth? Every song boasts extremely infectious sing along vocals, that absolutely demand you sing a long. Rudy Gajadhar can pound out a ridiculous groove, more power than any other drummer that tries to play the music, or their retarded, distant cousins in the emo land, and he's Black (Ha Ha Ha)! This brims with more power too, well, I will say that this record is kind of hard to review, considering there is a lot going on. Tell you what, take my word for it, along with every other reviewer here that writes the five star reviews.

Volcano Poster
The music of this Seattle band is "a challenging collision of honey-sweet post-punk, black mountain prog, loping alt-country, and distortion-blitzed dream pop"--Alternative Press. Their sound is in the vein of Cursive and Blood Brothers, but with a much different vocal style. They were included in AP's "100 Bands You Need To Know In 2005", and they've toured with Acceptance, Madcap, Recover, and Name Taken.
