Free Music Notes for Gattaca: Original Motion Picture SoundtrackFree Music Review: Beautiful Music, Disturbing Movie Hit: 5 Stars
I saw Gattaca on a spur of the moment, randomly selecting out of the movie listings. I left the theatre stunned because the film had given life to a conversation I'd had with a friend about how far people would go to create perfect children. The music complemented the film so perfectly, with the quiet intensity that underscores the film. The horn solos are haunting, and the repeating theme binds it all together. Beautiful.
Free Music Review: NO WORDS NEEDED Hit: 5 Stars
I think Andrew Niccol explains the beauty of GATTACA soundtrack the best:"FILM MUSIC IS BEST WHEN IT SAYS SOMETHING THAT THE ACTORS AND THE PICTURE CANNOT EXPRESS. WHEN IT CAN CONVEY BOTH HOPE AND SORROW IN THE SAME COMPOSITION, THEN IT IS TRULY REMARKABLE." Michael Nyman accomplishes this and more. Bravo! My heart is uplifted whenever I listen; thank you. I will never part with this CD (or the movie.)
Free Music Review: UNBELIEVABLE!!! Hit: 5 Stars
This has got to be one of the greatest soundtracks of all time!!! First of the movie was a masterpiece, very well written and directed. Second the future looked not to different from ours, but at the same time had little details that made you sit there in disbelief. The movie was one of my favorites and the soundtrack is just as good. You will never get tired of this cd so buy it!!!
Free Music Review: Deeply moving and emotive Hit: 5 Stars
This soundtrack caputures the emotions and mood of the film perfectly. It is wonderfully composed and adds to this drama flick. The film, while not heavy not heavy in special effects, is more like the classic Hitchcock or Bradburry flicks, with a deep and full story, using scifi as a backdrop for the story. A terrific film and soundtrack. One of the best, underrated films of the 90's.
Free Music Review: Inspirational Caution Hit: 5 Stars
Nyman has perfectly captured the awe and caution that comes with cloning/re-inventing ourselves. He understands that for every hope, every ray of light, there is always a darkness, a sadness penetrating us and beconing us to recognize it's existence. This is a beautiful score, a remarkable acheivement calling to mind the haunting music by Bernard Hermann for the movie VERTIGO.
