I never heard this collection until years after its release--but what a pleasent surprise. From what I gather this was Clark's attempt to break through as a major performing artist, that for obsure reasons was not adequately promoted by the label. Sales were disappointing and it ended up being one of the best albums no one ever heard. Every track is a superior effort---including the re-recording of "The Train Leaves Here this Morning", which has got to be one of my all-time Clark favorites. Other standouts in a collection of standouts are "Silver Raven", and "The Strength of Strings'. An interesting performer and songwriter from his days with the Byrds until his untimely death in the early nineties, this is one that shouldn't be missed.
