George Michael is one of Pop's most versatile Artists and a true Survivor. It's no suprise then that "Ladies & Gentleman: The Best of George Michael" is an Annual Best Seller at Amazon the world over! The opening track on the "for the heart" CD1, "Jesus to a Child", is nothing short of stunning: "Sadness in my eyes; no one guessed, well no one tried; you smiled at me; like Jesus to a Child; loveless and cold; with your last breath you saved my soul; you smiled at me; like Jesus to a Child." George does just a competent take of "I Can't Make You Love Me"; Bonnie Raitt's version is definitive. But he more than makes up for it with his own "Praying for Time", a song with a timeless message. CD2 "for the feet" contains all the mid and uptempo Dance/Pop Hits. Highlights include "Freedom 90" and "Faith". George's fans should also check out the new release from Pop/Rock Artist Amber - "My Kind of World". Amber's CD is an eclectic Collection of Pop, Rock, Jazz, and Dance Tracks. Though not a Greatest Hits Collection like George's CD, "My Kind of World" may as well be. It contains enough potential Singles to keep it in the Charts for the next 2 years! Billboard in it's glowing review of the CD said that "Amber deserves a spot in the Mainstream!". Right beside George! My advice? Get BOTH The Best of George Michael and Amber - My Kind of World.

If you have ever heard a George Michael tune throughout the years, then you know how well he sings and how well he composes each song into a pop masterpiece. Throughout the 80's, he went to the top of the charts with such emotional ballads as "Father Figure," "One More Try," and "Careless Whisper" (as WHAM! featuring George Michael), and ultra-pop songs that you can easily dance to, such as "Faith," "Monkey," and "I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me) (with Aretha Franklin)". He continued his reign through the '90's with "Praying For Time" and "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me (with Elton John)". In the mid-90's he scored some Top Ten Pop hits with "Jesus to a Child" and "Fastlove"; however, his PHENOMENAL reign of hits in the U.S. really started falling somewhat after his late-90's "lewd bathroom conduct". Lately, he's scored major dance hits and British Top Ten Pop hits with some singles from his new album "Patience." However, this is a collection that will boggle your mind with all of his fascinating hits up to "Outside". Out of the 28 songs that span his career from 1985 to 1998, 8 are #1's, 6 are Top Ten, 5 are Top Fifty hits, and the others are new, previously released (primarily British hits), or album tracks. If his magnificent voice stuns you as much as it does me, then this CD is for you! Buy it immediately!
Free Music Review: Truly the best! Hit: 5 Stars
Amazing collection! George Michael's latest is a great mix of his best dance music and ballads for whatever mood youre in! Michael is one of the truly great songwriters of his generation (besides having a beautiful voice and being a good producer to boot). He actually writes his own original material.....which is a dying breed in these times of songs "borrowed" and sampled from older, greater songs AND artists who only sing. All of George's songs are great and Careless Whisper, a wonderful song by anyone's standards, is the crown jewel! As with any greatest hits collection of an artist of his magnitude, people will gripe of songs left off this collection, but as a whole, it is the best of his solo career. The best of his classics are all represented here as well as great new songs such as Outside and A Moment With You. All of his major hits are here including Father Figure, Careless Whisper, Faith, Praying For Time, Fastlove, etc. etc. Wonderful songs that are hard to find are included here as well, especially the duets with Aretha Franklin and Queen. Kudos George, for a great anthology and pleasing your loyal fans. We'll be waiting with anticipation for the next album. The new songs on this album prove you haven't lost your golden touch.
Free Music Review: Terrific Buy Hit: 5 Stars
Nearly thirty dollars for a CD, it better be worth it. I didn't bother reading the reviews but songs like "Careless Whisper", "One More Try", "I Knew You Were Waiting for Me" and Michael's terrific vocals, the only European male artist to successfully reach #1 in the U.S. R&B charts, it had to be something special. The 2 disc set as mentioned before is divided into ballads "For the Heart" and dance music "For the Feet" my favorite being "Fast love" on the dance tracks. I had an instant liking to it the first time I heard it. A remake of Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me" on the ballads disc, gives that song Michael's own personal blue-eyed soul feel. Michael became popular in the U.S. with the duo Wham! then as a solo artist with 1985's pop hit album "Faith". He is a uniquely talented musician songwriter singer of which does not come around too often. This 2 disc set highlights his accomplishments as a performer with Wham! "Careless Whisper, Freedom 90" and as a solo performer "Kissing A Fool, Outside". Michael is obviously influenced by rhythym & blues and he has one of the best if not the best, blue-eyed soul vocals in pop history. Ladies & Gentlemen The Best of George Michael, to me, is worth every cent.
