I purchased this cd about a year ago, because I had none of George Michael's albums on cd. I had the old 33 1/3 lp's, and had to catch up with the times. I was 10 years old when Wham! hit the radios, and 16 when I first saw him in concert in MSG in '88. I've been in love with that voice forever it seems, and no matter what is said about him, or what is commented about his personal life, I always think on him so very fondly. He has colored my music loving life, with such different music, and he's grown as I was growing. I think this cd captures all of his best, and let's you sample it, without trapping you in a sort of cliche. I'm sure he's got more of this stuff hidden in that great voice of his, and I just can't wait to hear it all! Everytime I put this cd on, it's like I'm 16 again, and recalling every time I first heard each different song. I think he's fantastic (wham! got that one right with their first album), and can't wait to hear what he's going to bring to our ears next. This duet is with Mary j Blige. It is missing on the U.S. version as her record label refused to list it in the U.S. due to George's bathroom escapade. This is a shame as it is a fantastic song with a killer video. Below is the U.K. cd listing copied from Amazon.co.uk

Dear Music Lovers : Never be bothered by what the media says. Good music will live irrespective of anything. I have been listening to GM for the last 8 years, his music is extraordinary and has international appeal. 'Make it Big' is a wonderful album and so is this collection of his great songs. If you want to listen to good music, buy this two CD pack right away.Dear GM : Never let anything - Media, Recognition or even You, affect your Music. You really don't need to prove anything more and already on your way to becoming a legend. Pls keep in mind you are still remembered for Careless whisper, Last christmas and Don't let the sun go down on me, by millions of people all across the world. You have written "I very much wish to have some fun with the next album". The right idea of real fun is songs like 'wake me up before you go'. Whenever i listen to your songs i think of Richard Marx. Pls stay clean, tread carefully and have fun - if not for you, atleast for us. We love you.
Free Music Review: Great Voice/Great Career/Great Cd...PERIOD!

These days it seems as if Americans have all but dismissed George Michael. That is a darn shame. Although he has become an easy target for tastless jokes and the like this has absolutely nothing to do with his music. GM has a terrific voice and he is one of the few artists out there who can write/perform fast and slow songs with equally pleasing results. The way Americans rebuffed and ridiculed this cd and George Michael personally makes me embaressed to live here. I hope George knows that he still does have true fans in the States. The best slow song on here is "Jesus to a Child" and the best fast song is "Fastlove". I only wish George would have included the original version of "I Want Your Sex" but you've got to hand it to the guy for giving us variety. Keep up the great work George and come back to the States soon. (By the way do you have a new cd coming out in the near future?)Free Music Review: Excellent retrospective

In spite of the salt that George Michael has had dropped on his name during the last couple of years, this greatest hits package is fine document of his talent as a singer and a songwriter. The 28 tracks included on this double CD set is divided into one disc titled "For The Heart" which consists of ballads, and "For The Feet" which has all of his uptempo songs. Lots of great music here, but unfortunately the American version of this album is missing "As", his duet with Mary J. Blige. I would have also liked to have seen part one of "I Want Your Sex", and George's great live version of "Love Is In Need Of Love Today" included(on the B-side of the "Father Figure" 12"), but aside from that, the song selection is excellent. The new songs "Outside", and "A Moment With You"(love the way you weaved that Mtume sample in there George! )are great also. Long time fans and new fans alike will be very pleased with this package.
