Free Music Review: YOU'LL FEEL LIKE A MILLION BUCKS!
Hit: 5 Stars

One listen of this superb album, and you can't help but be convinced that George Michael is truly one of our generation's greatest and most talented vocalists. The whole thing just exudes talent and class. It's really too bad that it's not enjoying more commercial success. The smoky jazz, the big bands, even the lone harp are perfect complements to his spectacular voice. He and producer Phil Ramone managed to make "Roxanne" actually listenable (I always found The Police's version to be quite painful and grating to listen to). "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" is a bit too slow for my taste but George's voice really shines on this one. And you'll love the tongue-in-cheek notion of George performing "Secret Love". But the album is much too short; it's over before you know it and it leaves you begging for more.

A terrific album full of talent.

Free Music Review: Editorial Review is Wrong! This CD is Stunning
Hit: 5 Stars

Mr. Michael has recorded a CD which will, in years from now, will be viewed as one of the best vocal CDs recorded.

This CD is a stunning display of Mr. Michael's vocal talents and sharp sense of humor (Secret Love). The songs flow seamlessly from one to the next creating an adhesiveness not found on many CDs.

Songs From The Last Century may not be for George Michael fans looking for an earlier George Michael sound. This CD showcases his mature voice with full range and rich nuance. This is a richly rewarding singer's CD. (Phil Ramone and Mr. Michael are also commended on the selection of songs.)

I find Amazon's editorial review of this CD to be unfounded and without merit. After re-reading Amazon's editorial review it's no wonder Nietzche disdained critics.

Mr. Michael and Mr. Ramone are to be applauded on an exemplary CD.

Free Music Review: The love of the Classics
Hit: 5 Stars

Well, what can i say abour George Michael's latest offering. Obviously, it was a bit of a surprise albeit a lovely surprise at that.

As a listener, you are able to enjoy the melodic harmonies of George Michael's voice. the listener can sense that Michael loves what he is singing backed by a great sounding orchestra.

Althouh some may say that this is a huge leap in George Michaels foray into music, an avid listener will tell you that this has been on the cards for some time. I recommend that you listen to this latest offering by one of the most underrated musicians of the late 90's and give it a go.

Listen without prejudice and you might surprise yourself- you may end up liking soulful songs infused with jazzy melodies. As i tell my sceptic friends, give it a go, you've got nothing to lose, only great music to gain!

Free Music Review: Something that grows on you
Hit: 5 Stars

As a long time fan, I almost panicked I was going to be bored by this album when I listened to Brother Can You Spare a Dime. Ugh. Too emotional. But then Roxanne washed my panic away and I was already comfortable with My Baby Just Cares For Me. And by the fifth track, totally relieved(I still prefer Roberta Flack's version of the song, though). And Miss Sarajevo was a killer. There is well-balanced harmony in all these diverse songs, if some of them are over-produced for the sake of that harmony. It's still well worth listening and I think I'm going to wear this album out soon.

By the way, if you are expecting anything Wham! from this, don't buy it. But I can say this: it is one of those albums that sort of grow on you. Hope you see what I mean...

Free Music Review: BRILLIANT - WELL DONE GEORGE!
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD is a brilliant example of George's superb voice and incredible voice placement. George truly is a very versatile vocalist. There is such a large contrast between this work and the "heady WHAM! days". The CD represents an entire century of song and in my opinion the songs could have been done no better by anyone else. Highlights include "My Baby Just Cares For Me", "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", "Miss Sarajevo" and "Secret Love". Well done to George on such refreshingly different piece of work that people of all ages can appreciate. The backing music is incredible and serves to complement his flawless voice. If you do not have a copy of this CD then you are a fool.
