Free Music Notes for Twenty Five (Snyp)Free Music Review: Twenty-five years of George Michael Hit: 5 Stars
One reviewer said that this album was released in the UK in 2006 and finally released in the US this year. I say "twenty-five years of George Michael" because he had put out his Wham! debut album FANTASTIC twenty-five years ago. Wham! remained little-acknowledged until the 1984 blockbuster release MAKE IT BIG. Michael and Wham! may have debuted in the UK in or around 1981. This reviewer also said, which is true, that this collection is very similar to another set,the 1998 double-disc release of LADIES AND GENTLEMEN-THE BEST OF GEORGE MICHAEL. You get in this collection the MIB hits WAKE ME UP BEOFRE YOU GO-GO,EVERYTHING SHE WANTS and CARELESS WHISPER(CW may be the single version although the album version is played on the radio as well). A DIFFERENT CORNER is a nice easy listening piece from MUSIC FROM THE EDGE OF HEAVEN,released in 1986. You also have from Michael's Grammy-winning '87 solo debut FAITH(which won the Album Of The Year in '88),the title track,FATHER FIGURE and ONE MORE TRY. MOTHER'S PRIDE is from the '90 follow-up LISTEN WITHOUT PREJUDICE. Again recycled is Elton John's and Bernie Taupin's DON'T LET THE SUN GO DOWN ON ME,a live duet between Michael and EJ. This 1991 recording was initially released as a single, then on EJ's DUETS album, then on EJ's LOVE SONGS album, then on LAG. Michael had been dropped from Columbia Records, the label he even recorded on during the Wham! era. He had been assigned to a smaller label, releasing OLDER in 1996. From OLDER is JESUS TO A CHILD which was relased initially as a single in January 1996. Another interesting track is JOHN(Lennon) AND ELVIS(Presley) ARE DEAD,Michael's personal tribute to the ex-Beatle and King of Rock And Roll. The other songs are awesome!
Free Music Review: George Michael STILL rocks! Hit: 5 Stars
George Michael's newest release is a set of two CD's that contain enough hits songs and well written lyrics to satisfy even the mOst jaded music-scene habitue. Chart toppers such as "Fast Love" and "Freedom" are mixed in with some outstanding secondary hits and duets with Aretha Franklin and Elton John. The theme is definitely high energy dance, dance, dance and this collection reminds us of what an amazing instrument Mr. Michael's voice can be when produced properly and given strong lyrics to dig his teeth and ever capable vocal chords upon. This set of CD's plays well for a party or in quieter, more reflective moments. Give George Michael a second look--revisit older hits and newer hits and never before heard B/flip sides. Time to seriously reevalulate Michael;s career and superb song writing skills--not mention some vocal performances worthy of worldwide critical and commercial success. George Michael is reborn!

So I grew up with my sis who is 5 yrs older than me. We shared a room and she had every G.M. possible. Anyway, he announced a US tour. So I ordered this cd, then my sis called me and bought us tickets to the concert!
Anyway, these two discs have most of the best songs on it, although I am miffed that "Monkey" and "I want your Sex" are not included and I think they belong on there more than the newer songs. But they are good too. If you love George and you like to have mental flashback of where you were when you heard these songs, etc. then I reccommend buying this so you get all of the way from Wham to Faith!
ps. My sister still doesn't want to believe he likes boys... She does have a tattoo on her foot of his symbols from some album!!! What a freak.
Free Music Review: Amazing ! Hit: 5 Stars
Songs for Living and Songs for Loving: This is a beautifully arranged collection of many of George Michael's classic recordings, along with new releases that confirm his voice remains one of the most exquisite in popular music. Duets including the Stevie Wonder classic "As" with Mary J. Blige and the new release "This is Not Real Love" with Mutya, as well as GM's stunning cover of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", make this CD set truely special. If you have all of George Michael's previous recordings, Wham through Patience, your collection is not complete without this one.
Free Music Review: Once a fan, always a fan! Hit: 5 Stars
My brother was visiting England while George Michael was touring and picked up the Import CD for me. It is simply delicious! Regardless of how a person feels about his lifestyle choices the music & lyrics are just damn good! His songs have been covered by Joan Baez, Alicia Keys, Michael Buble, and Savage Garden. The man just writes with quality and honesty behind them that is difficult to find this day an age in popular music. In general I am a music lover. Madonna, Prince, Seal, Annie Lennox, Sting, U2, with George Michael at the top of my list!
