Free Music Review: The Very Best From George Strait
Hit: 5 Stars

George Strait is one of the Best Country singers - He has released 50 Number with his 50 Number One Country Hits. And the 51st song on this collection, "I Hate Everything" is now Number One on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks list - So, he now has 51 Number One songs. Quite an accomplishment. George Strait has had an immense impact on today's music, and especially Country Music. I just love his music and how it always has something to teach us about ourselves and life in general.

50 Number Ones is a testimonial to a remarkable singer who still does it all. This is is a must have collection for the true country music fan.

50 Number Ones is an impressive collection of songs ranging from d on the CD from the great classic "The Chair" to the spiritually touching "Love Without End, Amen" It is hard to pick my favorite becasue there are so many - though I think that his latest Number One Hit - "I Hate Everything: is one of his best.

Go Out and buy 50 Number Ones Now - It is Great. Highly Recommended.

Free Music Review: I don't care
Hit: 5 Stars

So some of the songs are truncated. I don't care! Country music is not a genre with a definite pattern in the composition like concerti and symphonies. It was difficult to get all those 50 hits on two discs, and I appreciate the effort.

When I'm riding down the road and listening to George Strait, I enjoy his own unique style with a hint of the rhythm that Johnny Cash used and a big dose of the melancholy that made us all love George Jones. Then I hear some novelty country Western tune from back in the 1980's, and I'm smiling again.

George Strait is the kind of male singer that makes a woman feel good. When we women listen to him, we can think about the men in our lives. His songs convey an appreciation and love for women. I don't know of anyone else who stirs up that much feeling. He's not self-absorbed, and his lyrics that he selects are all about men who loved women. Often things just didn't turn out right. The poignancy of this album and the vulerability of George Strait affect me.

Free Music Review: 50 Number Ones
Hit: 5 Stars

The new George Strait complation 50 Number Ones, contains of course 50 Number One hit singles and 1 new song "I Hate Everything." This CD is a great way to acquire many of George's best songs,of course not all of his best material is one here, but being true to the title it wouldn't have been right to include hits that didn't climb to #1 on the charts. So you aren't going to find Amarillo by Morning or Unwound on here, but with any complation you're always going to have a couple of personal favorites that don't make it onto the collection, but you could always buy the older greatest hits CDs of George Strait or the individual albums, if there is a song you want that has been left off. I also have to give the album praise for including Check Yes or No, because as far as I know it was only previously available on Strait from the Box,and personally I'd rather have a two CD set of #1's than buy a 4 CD box set, especially since I have many of his original albums on cassettes, but anyway 50 Number ONes delievers a lot of bang for your bucks.

Free Music Review: Stone Cold Strait
Hit: 5 Stars

George Strait is the undisputed King of country music for the past 3 decades (sorry Garth, his longevity has bested you), and this double CD effort is a collection of all of his chart toppers. What really more needs to be said? While I have just begun to rate all of the albums I own here on Amazon, this is the first one I have given 5 stars. Listening to this album in order is like taking a trip through the 80's and 90's in a time machine. Many of these songs are so iconic they have become a part of people's memories. Listening to all of this great music also makes me realize that George Strait has accomplished all of his success without sacrificing anything. His music is remarkably unchanged from 1981 to today. If you don't own this album, you should. Whether you are a hard core country music lover or just want to own the best music that country has to offer to add to your collection.

Free Music Review: *****For George 0 for the Song Cutting Hacks!
Hit: 5 Stars

This a a great collection. It reminds me why I fell in love with George Strait's voice way back when I was in high school in the 80s and why I still love it 20+ years later. Unfortunately, TPTB have done a few things to mar what could have been a real testament to Mr. Strait's career. They have shamelessly chopped up several of the songs on disc one in order to cram them all in. I was also surprised that "The Cowboy Rides Away," "The Fireman," and "Amarillo By Morning" were excluded since they fudged the Number 1 idea with "True" and "Run." Still George Strait could put out a CD with him singing Happy Birthday and it would be awesome. This is a very nice collection.
