I know this sounds like I am copying another review but I'm not if you look on the original the info. matches. I forgot my password and such so I had to make a new profile.
I didn't know about the cut offs of the songs before,but now that i do i still don't care. The cd is not about that. I wouldn't want a 3 cd (athough it would be neat) set with the same songs,nothing added,and have say 10 songs on the third cd and pay 5-10 dollers more for the same songs with 5-10 maby even 45 sec. added. Give it a break.
How can i say anything less than this is one of best, if not greatest cds George has done. After all it is his #1 collection. This cd couldn't be anything less than suppurb. If you don't own it, go out and buy it!!!

Okay, I'll level with you: I bought this one to get the hit single I HATE EVERYTHING. And despite shortening of some songs, this one promises to be a hit and worth it for this one track alone!
I am a George Strait aficionado from the get go and own practically all of the albums that include the 50 NUMBER ONES included on the album.
You just can't miss with this album. The title will prove to be 51 NUMBER ONES when I HATE EVERYTHING runs its course. A must have for every George Strait fan--even those who, like me, already own all of the albums!
If you want all the songs in their normal length go ahead and buy all the albums. Otherwise shut up and enjoy this one!

I discovered George Strait waaaay after the fact. There were times I would be listening to country radio and hearing his songs, never knowing it was him singing. My boyfriend likes him and bought this cd when it came out. I was sort of disappointed when he did. All it took was playing the cds in the car for a bout 2 weeks and I got hooked. As soon as you start remembering the songs and lyrics, they grow on you like no other. There are so many good songs on this compilation, it's hard to pick your favourites. I'm really liking "We Shouldn't Be Doing This" (sounds like Elvis), "Easy Come, Easy Go", and a slew of others. I feel like a country fool for never giving George a chance. Now this is great country music right down to the core!!! The song " I Hate Everything" is a great song and I love the two CD set, it has all of my favorite hits on it. "You Look So good In Love" is a great song and I love all of the songs that are on the two CDs from "Blue Clear Sky to "Write This Down", this is another great accomplishment from the king of country music. George you've done it again!!!! I love his voice and his music!!
I love his new song "Give It Away"!!! Does anyone know when that CD's coming out? I've gotta have it. I'm a huge country fan and George Strait's 50 Number Ones is a must have for country fans!!!!

This album is outstanding. It carries with it 22 years of accomplishment. It even makes a liar out of itself. The title is "50 Number Ones" but the new song on the album, "I Hate Everything", became George's 51st number one hit. This gave the fans more number ones than the 50 that the title promised. The album also gave George a personal record as well. It sold 342,969 copies the first week after its release on October 5, 2004, the highest debut of his 23 year recording career. This album also serves as a timeline from 1982 - 2004 and just listening to it proves that he has stayed true to his country roots unlike some of the other artist around today. Keep up the good work George!
