This 2-CD set offers us Country Music fans a rich collection of not only George Strait's 2+ decade long career, but also a wide range of positive country ballads and tear jerkers. Needless to say that George Strait is Pure Country and I'm glad that he remained true to this formula. It's music form the heart, plucking away at the soul and the art of storytelling which made Country music so interesting in the first place. For the price, this is a great collection of 50 number one hits by one of the most consistent and kindest country music artists around. This is filled with all of George's #1's and as of today is out of date. George now has 51 #1's... with "I Hate Everything" reaching #1 on Billboard. So, you have an added bonus by getting this CD... Yes, some of the songs are cut short by only a few seconds, to be able to get all the 51 songs on 2 CD's. But it is still grait. I have all of George's MCA releases and wouldn't miss out on this for nothing. And might I add the Thank you that George wrote is even more valuable since he rarely does this sort of stuff. I didn't know about the cut offs of the songs before,but now that i do i still don't care. The cd is not about that. I wouldn't want a 3 cd (athough it would be neat) set with the same songs,nothing added,and have say 10 songs on the third cd and pay 5-10 dollers more for the same songs with 5-10 maby even 45 sec. added. Give it a break.
How can i say anything less than this is one of best, if not greatest cds George has done. After all it is his #1 collection. This cd couldn't be anything less than suppurb. If you don't own it, go out and buy it!!!

This CD is a must purchase for any true George Strait fan or any true fan of country music for that matter. Even if you already own everything George ever recorded like I do, this set is a convenient all-in-one collection, especially for traveling. I know a few tracks were shortened or faded early, but the only one that truly bothers me is the ending to "Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind?". The original ending is my favorite part of that song. Congratulations George, you are still "The King of the Cowboys". There are so many great Strait songs....
This CD set covers 51 of them....
SO WHAT if some of hte songs are trimmed by a few seconds....
For those who have the original CDs the songs appear on now have TWO versions of the songs!
In fact, the edits are barely noticable even if you have listenend to the songs your entire life!
51 songs for under twenty dollars right now...PICK IT UP..you won't be disappointed!
This set is sure to bring more fans to the great music of George Strait!
