I may be some stupid kid that doesn't really know what rock n roll is, however I have come to appreciate the old guys that really knew how to have a good time and wrote about their real lives full of drinking, fighting and having sex. I have listened to the classic thorogood on the local classic rock station and it just left me craving more, Theres no more of a bummer than listening to a sweet guitar sliding bad to the bone, and then going into an REO speedwagon song!! UGH I couldn't take it anymore!!! So I went to my local CD store and fished around the thorogood section, I didn't really want to go completely old school with a CD that had a lot of songs I didn't know, so I went with this Best of CD, sometimes best ofs are a gamble because they stretch themselves too thin and it shows, but this CD is pretty damn good!!! looking at the first few songs you know that the rest of the CD better be just about as good or you'll just be left disappointed. It may just be me, but I have loved listening to the true yet depressing drinking songs on this CD, I may just be a hard drinking partying college kid but I definitley relate to the songs like, if you don't start drinking I'm gonna leave, and One bourbon..., and maybe sometimes I drink alone, but usually that's just before a few friends come over and join me in my drunken stuppor. The CD is not for a recovering alcoholic or an anti drinking person. lol I may need serious intervention for my drinking habits someday, but for now the only remedy is a little george thorogood, and his friend Jim Beam. Anyone who really likes to listen to some good jump around and uplifting fun rock!! pick this CD up or at least one of thorogoods other albums!!! you'll be glad you did
