When I heard that Geri Halliwell was going to release a solo album, I was a bit skeptical. But after seeing the music video for "Look At Me", I changed my mind. I saw the video on May 10, and then I waited patiently for the day of June 15, when her debut solo album, "Schizophonic", was due in stores. On that day, I rushed to the store and bought the CD. As soon as I heard her CD I fell in love with it. Every song sounded unique in its own way, and I found that Geri had a beautiful voice. My personal favorites are "Walkaway", "Mi Chico Latino", "Sometime", and "Someone's Watching Over Me". I was deeply touched by "Someone's Watching Over Me", and I found to like "Walkaway" the best. This happens to be Geri Halliwell a.k.a. Ginger Spice's first album. In it, she shows some of her latin roots in songs like Mi Chico Latino. She shows a complex, very individualistic sound. I like this album because it isn't like all the other music, it is unique and fits her just like all the other Spice Girl's solo albums. My favorite song on this album is "Your In A Bubble". This song is probably the most undividual and sounds like hot, dance, digital from the early 90's-mid 90's. I also like songs like her two #1 hits "Look At Me" and the uplifting, car sound music "Lift Me Up". All in all, this is an excellent debut and I hope to get her follow-up "Scream If You Wanna Go Faster" very soon!

I give this album 5 stars based upon the strength of the song "Walk Away" alone. It puts the power back into the power balled, and it had better be released as a single. "Lift Me Up" is a really cute song that grows on you. "Look at Me" and "You're in a Bubble" are high on camp and oh-so-much-fun, if a little aggressive (but in a good way). "Goodnight Kiss" is very sultry and sexy. Although the other songs didn't really appeal to me, I'm sure there are plenty of others who will enjoy them. Basically there's something here for everyone.ps. is it just me or did the Amazon review seem off somehow? Not all of the thoughts were complete. Kinda looks like it was slapped together in under a minute. Oh well.

Who could ask for more? Geri delivers a stunning solo debut, far beynd my expectations, which were alreayd set relatively high. Ironically, out of the two songs that are ok, one is the single, Look at Me. You're in a Bubble isn't as great as the other eight, either, though it's not bad by any means. Lift Me Up is uplifting and beautiful. Walkaway is touching and powerful, very obviously about Geri leaving the Spice Girls. Mi Chico Latino is as spicy and fun as Walkaway is touching, and Goodnight Kiss, Sometime, Let Me Love You, and Someone's Watching Over Me are all good, strong songs. Anotehr favorite is Bag It Up, a very discoish piece that will make any woman just want to dance. A must-have album. Get it today and you WILL NOT be disappointed. i like the spice girls. accually i love the spice girls. i know it sounds bad, i like the spice girls and all, but i do and thats the way it is. Now, on to reviewing geri. i love this cd. my fav songs r look at me, walkaway, mi chico latino, bag it up, and your in a bubble. thre's a part in "walkaway" that really gets 2 me, when she goes "the tears you saw in my eyes will be there forever" and i like her better without cake for makeup, she is a pretty girl, but you couldent tell with that mask on. i love her blonde hair. she didnt look like she was comfortable as a spice girl. i love her CD. MY ADVICE TO U IS TO GET THIS CD ONLY IF YOU LIKE GREAT MUSIC! like i wouldent recommend it to hanson-lovers, but thats another subject.
