Free Music Review: A NEW RETURN AND A NEW SOUND FOR GERI...

"Scream If You Wanna Go Faster" is the second solo effort from ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell. Her first album, "Schizophonic" surpassed it by far. This album has an unwelcome retro sound in a few songs and others aren't even worth it. The album does have some good songs, so let's have a look:1) SCREAM IF YOU WANNA GO FASTER: The opening song to the album which starts out with a vintage drag racer accelerating. It's a good starter song full of energy and it has that irresistable Austin Powers 60s sound which is actually a really cool exception.
2) SHAKE YOUR BOOTIE, CUTIE: My favorite track on the album which has an awesome dance beat to it. This track was written by the lead singer of New Radicals and you can tell in some parts of it.
3) CALLING: Geri's opening ballad to the album which will and can never surpass the opening ballad, "Walkaway" on her previous album. It doesn't sound terrible though.
4) FEELS LIKE SEX: Geri tried way too hard in this track. She tried to mix bubble gum pop with semi-erotic lyrics and it's just not happening.
5) CIRCLES ROUND THE MOON: This track isn't all that bad. It's very guitarry and easy-listening, perfect for a day where you need relaxation.
6) LOVE IS THE ONLY LIGHT: Boring, boring, boring, guitar slow country song. This song isn't even worth listening to, it will put you to sleep. The only plus is Geri's voice which sounds great.
7) STRENGTH OF A WOMAN: This track is almost good. The downside is that Geri has tried too hard to put up her girl power ideology again in the lyrics.
8) DON'T CALL ME BABY: I don't like this song. It sounds very 70s retro. It's not very modern at all, but if you like old songs, you might like this one.
9) LOVEY DOVEY STUFF: This track has a really cool back beat, but that's all that saves this song from being just okay.
10) IT'S RAINING MEN: Geri's #1 cover of the Weather Girls song. This song is alright, but like all other covers, it's nearly impossible to surpass the original.
11) HEAVEN AND HELL (BEING GERI HALLIWELL): This song is absolutely terrible. Geri puts together a collage of the pros and cons of being a superstar in front of an 80s rock beat. Not happening.
12) I WAS MADE THAT WAY: This slow song is my 2nd favorite track on the album. It blends a slow 70s and 80s beat together with great lyrics and vocals.
