Free Music Review: Gimme some, gimme some gasoline

1-) Scream if you wanna go faster I can just picture Geri driving a race car, wearing glasses with bright yellow lenses and a Benneton jumpsuit when I hear this song. This is pretty much a rock song, with a catchy chorus, which begins with the verse "gimme some, gimme some gasoline"...get the point?

2-) Shake your bootie, cutie This would have been far nicer if the lyrics weren't so cheesy. "Shake your bootie, cutie...you are the dancing king...sexy daddy, baby" It does, however, have a nice beat that is sure to please clubbers and ABBA fans.

3-) Calling A very slow ballad, with nice, deep lyrics. Geri's voice really shines.

4-) Feels like sex Although the name suggests something far dirtier, the mere suggestion that this is pornography is an insult to this track. The best song on the album, this is the kind of song the fits Geri's vocal ability the best: An up-tempo, old-school style track.

5-) Circles 'round the moon According to Geri, "I soak up whatever I'm reading at the time." This was written after Geri finished reading the fourth "Harry Potter" book. She "read them all in one go", and liked the books so much that she wrote a song about them. This is being tipped to be on the Soundtrack for the upcoming Harry Potter movie, which comes out on November 16, 2001.

6-) Love is the only light Another slow ballad, very much like "Calling". I like this one better, though.

7-) Strength of a woman The kind of song you would find on the soundtrack for "Stepmom". The ultimate "girl power" anthemn, this song has a nice beat and nice lyrics (though I would not want to be caught singing "what we've got is a woman's power"

8-) Don't call me baby No, this is not a cover of Madison Street's song. It reminds of the Spice Girls' 1998 hit "Stop".

9-) Lovey dovey stuff Reggae? You bet! Although the style doesn't suit Geri at all, this song is one of the best on the album. It's the kind of song you can listen to while having your morning coffee.

10-) It's raining men A cover of the old Weather Girls hit. Many people found it terrible, and tried to diss Geri by saying that she ruined her own carrer by releasing this. I personally don't think so. The song is quite catchy, although the lyrics are plain stupid. NOTE: Despite all the criticism, the song went straight to #1 in the UK, and it remained at the top for two weeks before dropping to #2.

11-) Heaven and Hell (being Geri Halliwell) This song is Geri's answer to the media backlash. The lyrics are VERY well written, and describe Geri both inside and out. It also gives advice to those people who want to be famous - You only have 15 minutes in the spotlight, so make sure you enjoy the,."15 minutes, show me what you're made of, 15 minutes, what are you afraid of?" Never mind that Geri has been in the spolight for almost six years now...

12-) I was made that way Yet another ballad. An extra track on the "It's raining men" single.

Geri's second solo album is a mixture of pop, rock, dance, soul, and even reggae, with lyrics ranging from being very sexy, to hilarious, to just plain cheesy. Old and new fans will both be pleased.
