Free Music Notes for MIA: The Complete AnthologyFree Music Review: Not Quite Complete, but still great Hit: 5 Stars
Despite what the cd says, there are some more Germs studio recordings that didn't make it to this cd. Three songs were recorded for the Tooth And Nail compilation. These were different versions of Strange Notes, Manimal, and Dragon Lady. It's a shame they didn't make it on here because they are all good and as different to the LP versions as Lexicon Devil was on the single. Try to find that comp if you're a Germs fan. There's other great stuff on there too.
Free Music Review: essential punk Hit: 5 Stars
This is truly an album you must if you are even thinking of getting into punk. The Germs were truly influential to the hardcore scene. All of these songs are awesome punk/proto-hardcore gems. Sex Boy is one of my particular faves due to its sheer intensity. Other highlights include Manimal and Forming but trust me if you like punk buy this album. No punk collection is complete without it. Plus it is a complete anthology. What other reason do you need?
Free Music Review: Puzzled Panther Hit: 5 Stars
this album is one of my all time favorites. you could tell Darby was sober during most of these recordings. the first 2 songs are awesome, just total Germ warfare. darby singing bad, Pat, the geetar playing bad, Lorna, the boom boom bass is buzzin, and whoever was playin drums on the 1st 2 songs, the beat keeper is poundin like there is no tomorrow. the other songs were just sober and perfect sounding. now excuse me while i slit my throat.
Free Music Review: M.I.A. is unbeatable Hit: 5 Stars
In the late seventies I was much into the brittish punkrock scene and the first real USA punk rock band I heard was The Germs's MIA and felt of my chair... What a sound and so catchy! Please fill you ears with "american leather" and you know what I mean. Darby Crash's obsessive way of singing made my adrenalin flows that days, and still does.. Believe me this is one of the best punk albums ever..
Free Music Review: The boy that nobody owned... Hit: 5 Stars
If there is something compelling about Los Angeles, and that's certainly up for debate, you might just find it here buried deep down inside this album. Darby Crash was a firehose of verbal torment, spewing out his words in an eruption. This cd will make you rethink all of your assumptions about rock music, and particularly punk. It still sounds primitive, fresh and full of life, like Mentos.
