Free Music Notes for Gettysburg: Music From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Free Music Review: One of the best
Hit: 5 Stars

I just love this film and this score. The music is grand and elegant and is very sweeping and epic, just as the movie is. The best thing about this score is the fusion of gutiars into the orchestration. It's just great, very clean and clear and just wonderfully composed. The last four nubmers, Killer Angel, March to Mortality, Kathleen Mavourneen and Reunion and Finale are the best that the score has to offer. Over The Fence and Charging Up The Hill are my favorites. And how can you go wrong with the just blaring chords and tympani strikes to open up the first number and the whole score??? It receives my highest recommendation.

Free Music Review: Excellent! Edelman is the best!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is one of the most inspiring and emotional soundtracks I have ever heard! I believe that Randy Edelman does more to catch the true emotions of a scene than most other soundrack composers do. Perhaps this is why his pieces are used so often in film trailers; listen to "Fire in a Brooklyn Theatre" from the soundtrack "Come See The Paradise" if you don't believe me. This soundtrack stands on its own but I would recommend watching the movie to get the full effect. "Battle of Little Round Top" is a highlight. If this soundtrack doesn't move you, nothing will.

Free Music Review: HAUNTING AND STIRRING!
Hit: 5 Stars

The music Randy Edelman composed for the epic $25 Million motion picture GETTYSBURG is without a doubt his best to date. It's haunting themes and STAR WARS-style battle accompaniment music help to bring out the emotion of the epic story of the United States' greatest test over three days in July of 1863. I personally cannot wait to see what he has planned for the music to the $54 Million prequel to GETTYSBURG, GODS AND GENERALS. This one is a keeper! You'll love it! Grade: A+

Free Music Review: A Great Film Score
Hit: 5 Stars

With "Gettysburg," Randy Edelman provides us with a truly rich and stirring film score. In all my years of following and listening to soundtracks, I have to say that the "Main Title" from this film especially exhibits all the elements of a great composition - powerful, military, heroic, yet leaving us with a sense of the horror of war at the end of the piece. There are some elements of Edelman's score to "Dragon - the Bruce Lee Story," here, but they blend seemlessly with the Civil War theme. Definitely a keeper for your soundtrack collection.

Free Music Review: A majestic, moving score
Hit: 5 Stars

One of the best parts of the epic film "Gettysburg," which chronicles a major battle of the United States Civil War, is Randy Edelman's score. Beginning with his majestic, slightly mournful main title music, Edelman provides a perfect complement to this story of courage, tragedy, and triumph.

Edelman's music is at times suspenseful, at times victorious. There are also passages of tenderness. Overall, the music effectively evokes the personal sacrifice and often conflicted emotions of the men engaged in this struggle.
