Free Music Review: Great tunes, great beats, and a few gems that really shine on this CD

I'll keep my review brief. I love this CD. It is a 2 disc set that features mostly lyrical dance and techno music on one CD and non lyrical on the other. I'll Fly With You (L'Amour Toujours), The Riddle, The Way, La Passion, & Rectangle are some of my favorites from the CD. I honestly can listen to those 5 titles in endless loops and not get tired of them. Many a time have i wasted with the earphones or speakers cranked, and the lights low and just soaked in this audible pleasure. I've had my CD for nearly 3 years now, yet I'll Fly With You remains a favorite, to the point where I have started collecting remixes of it. The female vocales are so
The second CD has a few nice gems as well. I'm not sure if they all have the second CD, but look for it if you are into pure techno without the lyrics to get in the way of the beat. I do find that only 3 somgs of that second CD meet my regular rotation though. You'll love I'll fly with you and all the other beats this CD has to share.
Some have compared it to Eiffel 65, with less annoyance. I agree. There are similarities, heavy on Pop influence. The male vocal of I'll fly with you sounds very "popish" to me. I listen mainly to the ones I listed, but I like most of the tunes. Most of the others are heavier on pop influence, so i tend to only listen to them on occasion. The back button on my iPod gets hit more often than no though when I'll fly with you, Rectange, or La Passion play.

Incredible dance music form Italy. L Amour Toujours is the million seller album from the star DJ Gigi DAgostino incl. The Top Ten Singles The Riddle, La Passion, Bla Bla Bla, Another Way and more. An absolutely milestone in dance.Gigi D'Agostino embodies the Italian "progressive house" sound: completely synthetic, Eurodisco-lite, and peppered with vocals filtered through a Vocoder. This stuff doesn't do so well in the U.S., but it's huge in Europe, where a track like this album's hit, "I'll Fly with You," can top the charts from Spain to the Czech Republic. Unabashedly pop, D'Agostino is probably pooh-poohed by experimental DJs--making him laugh all the way to the bank. He does share one thing with many of today's artier electronic producers: an obsession with the 1980s. A cover of Nik Kershaw's 1984 song "The Riddle" won't raise many eyebrows, but then there's the left-field instrumental "Rectangle," initially released by obscure French electro-pioneer Jacno in the early '80s. Wisely, D'Agostino more or less refrained from tarting up the song's elegant simplicity and tried his darnedest to preserve its hard-to-pin-down melancholia. Even more wisely, he actually uses it twice, first in a medley with "La Passion" and then in a straightforward cover. Can't get enough of a good thing. --Elisabeth Vincentelli
