Never thought I'd enjoy a CD of this genre NOT performed by EmmyLou Harris so much -- but I do! Buy this one, you won't be sorry. The first two songs are perfect, and song for song this is one of the best folk country alt.country (or whatever you want to call it)albums ever, and maybe the best introductory album for any artist ever. Superlatives abound. In fact, Hell Among the Yearlings is almost as good, too. If you get a chance to see the band live, do yourself a favor and make sure you see it. Just don't take any pictures! David, while a great guitarist (he plays an acoustic like he's channeling Hendrix), is a little thin-skinned when it comes to unauthorized reproductions of his name and likeness, a touchiness that marred an otherwise perfect show in Lawrence, KS.
