Free Music Review: THE GREATEST EVER TEN STARS!! A MUST BUY!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is it, this is the highest point musical scores will ever reach. All the movies that have ever been made have all tried to do what this score does. This recording smolders the movie to the music so well that it is beyond brilliance. This score is the movie and the movie is the score. That is what all the composers, sound editors, and directors want. They want a orchestrated accopaniment that can stand on its own as a representation of the soul of their film. Ladies and gentlemen reading this review, I can tell you that it has now successfully been acheived. I have seen countless movies and have heard innumerable scores, however this motion picture and its soundtrack are the only true pieces of sheer art that have been created in my short life.

To: Mr. Ridley Scott- You are a directorial genius To: Hans Zimmer & Lisa Gerrard- You are musical geniuses To: Russel Crowe- Job Well Done! You deserve an Oscar

God Bless movies that change the way you look at life as this one does.

Free Music Review: Stunning!
Hit: 5 Stars

I do not watch blood & gut movies. This is not your typical soundtrack, for any movie, especially one with a story like Gladiator's.

This CD is one of incredible perportions, one in which anyone will get swept away.

Even a 12-year-old who can't see the movie because of all it's violence.

The music is full of breathtaking emotion, breathtaking suspense, and it's too hard to stop listening. Full of dizzing heights and dark falls, the music on the CD is too much for words.

You might view the CD as seeing in a dream. The slower songs are like seeing things in black and white (with the exception of The Wheat, where it's in shades of tan and gold)

Suddenly, explosions of full color and action will erupt in your face, and you'll have full view of dizzing speed, moving sights, and fascinatingly high spins, dives, darts, and whirls.

In short, this soundtrack is not one to be missed. It moves along passionatly, strongly, and, to the most music can ever be, a shade of perfection.

Free Music Review: This captures the magic of the most unforgettable of epics..
Hit: 5 Stars

I truly have no idea of what many of these reviewers are thinking...much of the time I spent in the second viewing of the movie was of listening to the complexity and intensity of the score rise as did the film's power. I have always loved Hans Zimmer's work that is so wonderful...some of his best and my favorite was with The Lion King...which he didn't do much, but what he did do was absolutely brilliant!

Now, this CD is awesome. It captures the most memorable of films in a simple circle with a hole in it, which I find fascinating. I truly loved the music so much that I made my friend sit in the theatre with me all of the way through the credits (there are about 20 minutes of credits for this film! ) just to listen to the beautiful song that would finish the film. All I have to say is get this CD...all who can appreciate something will be astounded by its power and beauty! "Strength and Honor" to you Mr. Zimmer, and continue with your music! Enjoy!

Free Music Review: Great Theme & Great Variety
Hit: 5 Stars

I owned the soundtrack before I saw the movie and I liked it so much I was dying to see the movie. The main theme (heard at the beginning of the third track especially) is what I really love about it. It's a moving theme--literally. But the theme doesn't take over the entire album. There's a whole lot of variety and different tunes on this album. The vocals make it sound almost haunting, and the brass and strings--the way Zimmer uses them-- make you want to stand up when you hear them. Well, for me at least. This is one of those soundtracks that you could almost drown in the sound of. I love turning the volume way up and letting the music just permeate the air around me. I don't really have any favorite tracks (well--maybe The Barbarian Horde), I love them all. The last track leaves you moved beyond words. Lisa Gerrard's vocals capture the emotion and movement of the film, as does Zimmer's music. Hans Zimmer is a great composer. There's nothing boring about this soundtrack.

Free Music Review: Maximus! Maximus! Maximus!
Hit: 5 Stars

I know adding another review on top of the 344 that already exist is sort of superfluous, but if you want to know exactly how much of a genius Hans Zimmer is, turn on Track 13 of this CD and fast-forward to 9 minutes, 15 seconds. It's just too bad you can't hear it on the one-minute link on this page--but then the price of the CD is absolutely worth just that forty-five seconds. It will knock your socks off (make tears come to your eyes, in my case). So will the last track; if you cried at the end of the movie, just listening to the music from it will make you do the same.
Gladiator 928 says below (or above, depending on where this gets posted) that the soundtrack is better than the movie. Ehh... I'm a huge fan of the storyline... but for sure, the movie and the extradiagetic music are a perfect match. The 2000 Oscar for Best Sound was given to this film, but honestly, it deserved Best Original Score. Or at least Wickedest Awesome Brass and String Score Ever.
