Free Music Notes for Gladiator

Free Music Review: A fantastic soundtrack to a great movie
Hit: 5 Stars

After listening to the Gladiator soundtrack I feel refreshed. The music is so fresh and new to a world where composing new music is somewhat hard. Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard should be congratulated for this wonderful soundtrack.

All the tracks have a 'Roman' feel to it that makes it very unique. There are great action tracks (most notably, Battle) and some very sad tracks. Vocals blend into some of the tracks making it sound like no other soundtrack. A very nice thing is that there is no break between tracks; they all play into each other. You may think that the music would be chopped up if you skipped to a middle track, but it's not. Everything can stand alone by itself.
One other thing I noticed is the main theme of Pirates of the Carribean is in track three. Klaut Bedelt did do some composing in this soundtrack and composed the Pirates soundtrack.

Gladiator is definately deserving of your time and money.

Free Music Review: Beautiful, melodic, mesmorizing, music...
Hit: 5 Stars

"Gladiator" is one of the best films of 2000, but it wouldn't have got to where it's at without Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard's mesmerizing soundtrack. From the first song to the last, it's like reliving the movie all over again. Each track flows into the next, weaving you along a delicious path which is by turns innocent and melodic, and violent and patriotic. "The Might of Rome" left me feeling transported back in time. I could sense how mighty and great Rome's power once was. "The Battle" and "Barbarian Horde" are another marvel in majestic music -- they are both angry and violent pieces of music that rise and fall like the Roman Empire. And then there are the last three songs ("Elysium, "Honor Him," and "Now We Are Free"), quiet, peaceful, and reflective.

The "Gladiator" soundtrack is a wonderful listening experience to be enjoyed long after the movie has faded from memory.

Free Music Review: too good to be true
Hit: 5 Stars

i loved this one from the bottom of my heart. all that i wanted was on this cd. amazing music, wonderful beats and a lovely voice. if you're one of those who just love to wander into your very own world and dream away ...this one's for you.
all of the songs are very good but my favouriteis 'now we are free'...its the voice of lisa gerrard that captures your soul; its a pity that this one gets over too soon. i just love to turn up the volume and let the music trance me...it does and it also gives you a good boost of inspiration..if you know what i mean.
each song has its own story to tell and as you listen you're already picturising the entire movie..i believe thats the whole essence of a good soundtrack.
no wonder i've seen this movie twice always wishing i could see it once again.
no other soundtrack has had such an impact on me..truly .
so go ahead...see for yourself....let the music enthrall you and make you crying for more.

Free Music Review: Lisa Gerrard
Hit: 5 Stars

What a joy to see Lisa Gerrard responsible with Hans Zimmer. for such a wonderful score even if the use of Holsts Mars shines through. coupled with lots of variations of other works by deceased composers. Lisa has worked on other movies "Baraka",[Dead can Dance} the "Insider" Her haunting voice , with the Middle Eastern influence, and the amazing vocal range, shows through on the gladiator score."Dead can Dance" have been a favourite band of mine and its great to see the recognition for her work, after years of making great music with Brendon Perry, just to also advise my USA friends, Lisa is one of us, an Australian. and heralds from Melbourne, and we all love and respect her for her artistic talents. Well done for producing an excellent compact disc, the recording is one of the best I have heard in a long time, it demands to be played over and over again. if you find this album boring or dull you must be dead!

Free Music Review: One of the best and most moving scores!
Hit: 5 Stars

Gladiator was and amazing film with a good range of emotions. The score is no less it is very haunting and will be played repeatedly by its listeners. It has a lot of surprises in it because I didn't expect so much emotion from a score for a movie called Gladiator. Although, it does have one of the best battle themes I've heard in a while. "The might of Rome" evokes the greatness of that time in a magnificent way. the last three tracks "Elysium, Honor Him, and Now We Are Free" are amazingly moving and make you think of honor and love. "Earth and Sorrow" are the most deeply moving pieces because they bring through emotions with subtley and grace. overall this score is phenomenoal in every way and is very inpressive work from Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard. I think it needed a remorseful love theme for Maximius and Lucilla, but one cannot have everything. Maybe...if it got another volume!
