Certainly a great set for the money even if one already has most of them on LPs. Hard to believe the Amazon listing for one record alone which is in this set for $320 more than the cost of the whole set!
In my set the Slaughterhouse-five disc (41) does not include the last cut, the Bach Chorale (BMV 651). Do I just have a defective disc or are they all like that?

A great way to get the ultimate Gould collection.
Not al records a breath taking: even the including (very honest!) book tells that.
But Goudl is always Gould. SO extually it is very simple: if you love classical music and are interested in Gould: buy this box.
If you just want a lot of great piano music: buy this box.
In any other case, you may want to buy somethin less "Gould-ish"

The box, the booklet and everything related to the presentation of this collection is fine. The recordings are complete, with good information provided. The CD sleeves copy those from the original LP recordings. Sadly, as they are much smaller, you can hardly read the back cover original comments. But this is only a minor point. Definitely, this is a must for any piano aficionados.Free Music Review: Replacement disc for CD 37

Sony/Amazon is sending out replacements for the defective disc 37 encountered by many customers. To get one, call 1-888-392-7669 and leave a message with your name and shipping address, as instructed. You'll get a single disc in the mail a few weeks later. I called on 7 April and received my replacement today, 25 April.
The replacement is free of defects.

If you are looking for good Beethoven or mozart interpretations, search in somewhere else, otherwise, you will be very disapointed. Mr. Gould did not like these composers and his ungangly playing in their works evidence that. Well, nobody is perfect, anyway...
