Free Music Review: Refreshing New Album

I'm not a music writer nor do I aspire to be one, so I will keep this short. I felt that this cd far surpassed the previous release in terms of enjoyment for me. I liked that it had less heavy "hip hop" sounding songs that I felt the first release had.
Each song is beautifully crafted and I love Cee-lo's soulful vocals. Even on the tail end of the cd where songs usually get dull he blows you away with Blind Mary and Neighbors (two of my favorite songs). This is true alternative, nothing out there sounds like this. Buy it now.

I would not call this album heavily produced..."reduced" is more like it. The basic production really gives Cee-Lo's lyrics room to shine.
And shine they do. My son has called 'Blind Mary', "perfect".
Songs like 'She Knows', 'Open Book' and 'Surprise' really give you an insight to just how good Cee-lo is with the lyrics.
It is a mellower album than St. Elsewhere. So if you are looking for something really uptempo, this album as a whole may not do it for you.

THe OdD CouPle is way too cool for my little pod, infact they should have packaged the whole thing on vynal; yeah i know no one would buy it. There were only two trax i wouldn't download and i'm not even going to mention what they are, the vocals were great on them just the production, it was way tOO out thEre much like their 06 attempt, I'd rate that, one and a half stars, however the art design on St Elsewhere: four stars. They are leading with "Run" as the single. Yet, it does not have nearly the strength as their famous hit track "Crazy." Its tough to recapture that magic. The album sounds good throughout. But, I have yet to stumble upon a track with strong hooks.
I recommend Cymande - Promised Heights, if you want something truly special and diverse. This is what Gnarlys Barkley wants to sound like. But its not easy to match the true pioneers.

Strange mix of various sounds and elements, but with Cee-lo and Dangermouse at the helm of a provocative collaboration, this is the cd of the year to pick up! I really enjoy every song on this one.
