Free Music Review: Godsmack is Awake!
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD is amazing, I could rave on about it for eternity, but I won't. I bought this CD(like most other people)after I heard "Awake". THIS SONG BLEW MY MIND! It had been a while since I had heard a song as addictive as this one. Sully's outstanding vocals, heavy guitar riffs, and a great drummer make this song, as well as others, what they are. The other songs I ended out loving are Sick of life, Greed, Bad Magick, Goin' Down, Trippin and Vampires. They are all really good songs with powerful lyrics, great singing,(except in Vampires, there are no lyrics) well played back up bass, guitar and guitar riffs, and awsome drumming. Godsmack took a big step up from his first CD and created a masterpiece. This CD is a must! If you don't have it yet, GET IT!

Free Music Review: It Grows on you...
Hit: 5 Stars

I first heard them in the car with a friend. Just the first few tracks on this CD. I thought it was OK, but then I got "Awake" stuck in my head for days, and finally I just had to borrow this CD from him so I could hear the song! It really grew on me in the few days it was playing nonstop in my head! I definitely recommend the killer track "Awake", and also "Greed" and "Sick Of It All". It does kind of trail off in quality toward the end, but the songs are still very good. "Vampires" and "Spiral" are pretty obviously filler songs, but like I said, they still deserve to be listened to.

If you don't like these guys from the start, give them a good LONG look. It will grow on you.

Free Music Review: my mistake...
Hit: 5 Stars

I guess Godsmack only has one CD, just with two different covers and track names.

Seriously, though, this CD is nothing new. It's painfully close to their first album, except that it's shorter, and has fewer memorable songs. Loyal fans will find enough here to make the purchase seem acceptable, I would think.

If you consider yourself someone who appreciates good music, you'd do much better to buy their self-titled debut CD; or to steer clear of them all together. Tool, Deftones, Dream Theater, APC, CoE, VAST, and Fuel all make better music with more variety, innovation, and uniqueness than Godsmack.

If, on the other hand, you like what your radio stations tell you to like, be my guest, click buy!

Free Music Review: No sophmore slump here.
Hit: 5 Stars

This another solid effort by Godsmack. I keep hearing and reading that this album sounds too much like the first one. Well, it does. But what's wrong with that. My friends have every ACDC album and all of them sound the same, so why should this matter. If it works, why change. And this definitely works. Very solid beats with some pissed off lyrics thrown in for good measure. You can crank this up and shake the windows non stop if you want. Awake is a very good song as is Vampires which has no lyrics (just some talking in the background) and it just thumps. If you can't quite get into Creed because they are a little too mellow, then try Godsmack on for size. They guys have a kick that sounds soooo sweet.

Free Music Review: It's addictive
Hit: 5 Stars

I still love their first album much much more, but maybe cuz it made me fall in love with Godsmack in the first place. I couldn't stop listing to this album for the past couple of years and maybe that's why i was really impatient and critical about the "Awake"ning of Godsmack. But my favorite band didn't disappoint me. I still love their debut much more but they still keep their heavy tunes and the meaning of Godsmack in the lyrics which i adore. "Sick of life", "Awake", "Mistakes", i can still count every song on the album. What can i say if you like "Keep away", "Whatever" and "Immune", you can't but just get addicted to this album.
