GODSMACK'S ALBUM "AWAKE" IS IN MY OPINION EVEN BETTER THAN THEIR SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM. "AWAKE" IS AN INCREDIBLE ALBUM BECAUSE THE LISTENER CAN FEEL THE RAW ENERGY AND POWER OF EACH OF THE SONGS. IT REALLY GETS YOUR ADRENALINE PUMPING. THE LYRICS SOMETIMES SEND CHILLS UP YOUR SPINE BECAUSE OF THE HONESTY AND ANGER THAT INSPIRES THEM. THIS IS AN ALBUM THAT YOU CAN LISTEN TO STRAIGHT THROUGH WITHOUT HAVING TO SKIP EVEN ONE SONG. "AWAKE" REALLY DEMONSTRATES THAT THE BAND HAS SERIOUS TALENT. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT GODSMACK IS GOING TO BE AROUND FOR A LONG TIME.Free Music Review: Godsmacks Second CD

I really enjoy this cd alot because it has great lyrics and the songs never get old. Their best songs on here are Sick of Life Awake Greed Bad Magic Goin' Down Trippin For Give Me Spiral These are the best songs on this fantastic cd but their is a few I dont like at all and 2 out of three dont even have words in them which is very dissapointing The Journey (no words) Vampires (no words) Mistakes I enjoy most of their songs and I love their music video of Awake and this cd also has a better cover! Even if your not a Rock fan you should still get this one its just that good! I love it!Free Music Review: I'm Impressed

After Godsmack defied Logic and had some of the worst songs I've ever heard on radio released with their last album, they came back with a vengence on this new album, and made themselves known as something other than an Alice in Chains cover band. This album is angry, catchy, and although the Alice in Chains comparison still lingers, they have taken on their own style of music on this album, making it a little more unique. This album has put me in many-a-good moods while driving in my car. The song "awake" is the best song they have ever done.

If you saw my review of their s/t CD, I was still their fan, I just thought that Sully couldn't write lyrics. This is definatly an improvement over the "Whatever" "Get up/Get Out" "Keep Away" lyrics. I guess they still have a little of that stuff, but not as much. But musicly, they've always been excellent. With the agressive opening "Sick of Life", the hit title track single, and the "VooDoo" like "Vampires" musicly, they've done it again musicly. Lyricly, Sully has discovered his writting ability.Free Music Review: Very Great!
