i hav been a fan of godsmack since the first day i saw the video of "whatever". ever since that moment they have been my favorite rock band. i think this is godsmack's best CD yet. "straight out of line" sets the tone for the CD. most of the songs are hard rock with a few low key songs but just as great. if your a pure godsmack fan then i believe you will love this CD.my ratings of each song:

First of all, this album is amazing. People keep complaining about the albums having the same sound. Theirs ways this can be bad and ways this can be good. One bad thing about sounding the same is that their is a chance that you can get bored with the sound, which is not the case with me, and another thing is that it's a little safe, not taking risks. The good thing about keeping the same kind of sound is that you will insure that you keep your dieheart fans and not taking the risk of losing them. You know, the people who loved the sound the way the early albums did. I have experenced this before and droped a band for doing a different sound and didn't sound like the old group in the beginning.Free Music Review: Godsmack, Smacking as hard as ever

HELL YEAH MAN! This is, by far, the best of their three! I just back from the cd storeand playd it all the way through, and it's insane! They haven't changed their sound one bit, so I don't want anyone saying that the sold out! I'll personally kick anyone that says that. And they have the same kind of set-up with that last 2 songs as they did on Awake. second to last song is a lead in, and The lst track is one of the best onthe cd. You'll hear everything you love about Godsmack on this cd, and more! Faceless, the title track, has a realy nice gituar solo in it. And I'm sure many people will be excited that I Stnd Alone appears on this cd, I know that made me happy. GET THIS Music Review: Another hard-hitting-album by GODSMACK!Hit: 5 Stars Thank god the wait is finally over! If you are new to Godsmack, I would have to say start off with this cd. Then Awake, then self-titled. It opens with there first single "Straight out of Line" and closes with there current single "Serenity", and smack dab in the middle "Re-Align" (which is being released as a single). With the information I have provided, I see theres no reason not to invest in this compact disc, believe me its worth the time and money. Also look for THE OTHERSIDE being released sometime in November/December. Which of course is an acoustic album, but like always I'm sure it will kick @$$! So far this IS the best release of 2003...
Free Music Review: A Good CD

Generally after a band's been around for a few years and have been pretty popular, they start to wimp out (Filter, Korn, Kid Rock, etc.) and start spouting out junk. Their music loses its force after they make money because now that they have money and are happy. Not so with Godsmack. They're just as angry and unhappy as ever. While a couple of the songs seem similar to ones they've done previously, most of them are great. My favorite of all of them would have to be Serenity, which is well worth the price of the CD by itself. It's very similar to Voodoo, while less dark and more calm. A beautiful way to end the album. I only wish more of the music sounded like the last track.
