Free Music Review: AMAZING METAL CD FROM AN AMAZING BAND!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD is just great!! They are one of my favourite metal bands out there!! Sully has an amazing voice, Robbie does amazing guitar riffs and Tommy is a 5 star drummer! I don't think that this CD should be labeled [EXPLICIT LYRICS] because it doesn't swear that often compared to other CD's without one but it doesn't really matter to me. I would have to say that VooDoo is my favourite song because of the amazing lyrics, even though it's not that hard compared to the rest of the CD. Other 5 star tracks include Keep Away, Whatever, Bad Religion and Time Bomb. I would rate Awake about the same as this CD. Sully Erna always says something like Go Away!, so I think he should try to lessen that for his next CD. Overall this is a must have CD for all of the metal rockers out there! If this is their 1st effort, think of what we have coming up next from Godsmack!!

Free Music Review: Great Rock Album!
Hit: 5 Stars

It is very hard to believe this is a debut for the new england boys otherwise known as Godsmack, these guys are so educated and well aware of what they are doing with they're instruments it is hard to believe this is there first studio recording, the Cd is filled with hard riffs, awsome beats, and a great voice from the man Sully himself.... The Drums are by notoriously named Tommy, and the 4 string thing (also known as bass) is by Robbie, and the guitar by one of the best guitarists in rock today, Tony.... i luved this album especially the songs, "moon baby", "whatever", "keep away", "time bomb" (featured on Scream3 soundtrack), "stress", and the best song on the album "Voodoo"....... 5 star effort awaiting for the sophmore effort coming soon (i hope)!

Free Music Review: Essential Grunge/Hard Rock
Hit: 5 Stars

Definitely an essential piece to any grunge/hard rock enthusiast. This album is the start to the godsmack legacy (now four albums long) and is an excellent thumbnail print of all succeeding efforts. One aspect to appreciate about this album is that besides vocals, Sully Erna also composed and recorded all drum tracks before Tommy Stewart came on board. These thumping/groovy tracks together with Merril's bass provide a solid foundation for Tony Rombolla's captivating guitar rythms. Sully's vocals are quite a highlight ranging from low melody to aggressive grunge vocals (This album features his most aggresive vocals in my opinion).
Album Highlights: Moon Baby, Keep Away, Time Bomb, Bad Religion, Situation, Voodoo (amazing percussion)
Personal Favs: the above, Stress and Immune.

Free Music Review: Excellent albumn
Hit: 5 Stars

The first Godsmack song I heard was "Voodoo" on the local rock station. At first I pretty much ignore it like alot of the garbage that was played. But after listening to it a few times it really grew on me. So one day when I was putting in my CD order I looked it up and listened to a few samples. I figured I would give it a shot. Let me tell you I am very glad I did. This is great hard rock. Excellent vocals with great underlying bass and drum work. Sounds like a mixture of Tool, Metallica and Staind. I would definatly rank Erna close to the top as far as vocalists go. His booming voice really delivers a great punch. Unfortunatly the lyrixs get repetative as the albumn goes on. I can let this go becuase it is Godsmack's first albumn. Hopefully they can only get better!

Free Music Review: the Truth about Godsmack
Hit: 5 Stars

Godsmack is a band that can appeal to metal fans and rock fans. This by no means is saying that their music is sugarcoated or watered down. Every song on the CD is based on a heavy, distorted guitar riff and a pounding somewhat tribal drumbeat. Lead singer Sully Erna is a very talented man. He has one of those voices that you just have to love and cant get out of your head. He perfectly blends elements of raspiness, growling, power, and soul to his vocals. Also, the lyrics are very good too. I talk to many people who listen to many kinds of music and i have yet to meet someone who can resist bobbing their head and tapping their foot to this cd. Simply put...like metal? get it. like hard rock? get it. Dont like rock, only metal? get it.
