Now, this is Godsmack at their best! There are no explicit lyrics or content. Instead, it's pure rock with great lyrics. This album is proof that Godsmack has improved on their music. I used to own their self - titled album that was filled with screeching, growling noises, and explicit lyrics. Well, you won't find any of that on this one. This is the new and improved Godsmack! This is by far the best Godsmack CD that the band has released. The first song isn't that good, but every other song on the CD is awesome. My favorite songs are "Hollow" and "Shine Down". This CD has more diversity than the previous ones and has a couple of songs that could have been outtakes from their acoustic CD "The Other Side", which is still one of my favorite CDs released in the past 10 years.Free Music Review: a different change for the band

This CD really has been a suprise. It follows more of a rock sound but its deep and heavy like the usual Godsmack stuff. What is great is that every song on this cd does not sound the same (like faceless). It has really started to grow on me in the past few hours. My favorite songs are speak, livin in sin, the enemy, wicked, bleeding, and temptation. This is a must for Godsmack fans!Free Music Review: "IV" is excellent!

Free Music Review: Probably One of the best Heavy Rock Cds of 06'

Yeah they changed their sound a little bit, such as "shinedown", but that song is one of the best on the cd. There are still some heavy hitters on IV, but they also slow it down a bit, and that is where they kinda show some weakness. Overall this cd probably only gets a 4.5/5, but it gets rounded up for being Godsmack! \m/\m/
