Free Music Notes for Good Charlotte

Free Music Review: good
Hit: 5 Stars

This album rocks. There isn't a dull song. Well, nothing from Good Charlotte is ever dull. They are a hardworking, charismatic, intelligent, talented and down to earth group of guys just doing what they love and what they were destined to do. You really need to get this CD, whether you're a GC fan or not. (well, obviously not you haters out there) Which brings me to my next point. I listen to mainly alot of punk music, ie. Rancid, The Clash, but I have a respect for all genres in general. Not pop though, but it really depends.(I'm talking reggae, grunge, rock and roll, ska etc.) and I've come to a conclusion that life is much sweeter with Good Charlotte. I simply don't get what the haters are on about. Not everybody likes their music, and that's fine. (I'd be concerned if most of the people did like them) But what all or most of the haters seem to have in common is that they're all neurotic, unhappy smartasses. I really don't think you shoyld listen to anything they say. You might start thinking, "Oh, well, we all know GC aren't exactly music legends, am I wasting my time liking them?" And maybe you're afraid those rocker kids will just laugh at GC and say they're not punk, but don't think like that! You can and have to be proud of GC if you're a real fan, it's not like you have a reason not to be, I mean they're almost perfect. (if anybody would like to correct me on that one, email me[[...]]) Here's my advice: buy this CD if you don't have it, listen to all types of music with an open mind, ENJOY music, don't just listen to the same thing all the time, go listen to some classic punk, old stuff, and you'll appreciate Good Charlotte better. Don't listen to crap like Simple Plan or Ciara, Good Charlotte is life! To me anyway. This album is great, it's really raw and fresh stuff, with alot of original and imaginative guitar stuff, and some amazing bass. Joel and Benji both have amazing voices, and the harmonies are perfet when they both sing. This is really what they were meant to do. Oh yeah, and I rememer someone saying back in another review that GC aren't punk and are trying to live up to it, or something like that, well it's not true. GOOD CHARLOTTE ARE PUNK. They are, they are, they are, they are and that's final. Perhaps a little different type of punk than the Sex Pistols, but they weren't all that great anyway. They're doing what they ant and what they love regardless of everyone around them. Somebody actually said they're not punk BECAUSE they have peircings and tattoos. Well, GC don't know or care about you because they are better people than the people who spend so much time expressing their hatred for a great band that doesn't deserve it.
You actually can notice the influences from the great bands they listened to growing up, but now I feel I've rambled on enough and probably wasted to much time blahh.....

Buy the frickin CD! even though my review may have sucked, this album doesn't.

Free Music Review: I Love This Band Sooo Much
Hit: 5 Stars

Hi. Can you believe this?I have owned Good Charlotte for nearly two years, and I had no idea who it was by!It was given to me by a friend who thought I might appreciate it, but it was a coppied CD with no name on it. Since I first got my hands on it, it has been my favourite CD, especially tracks one and four, which I now know are called "Little Things" and "East Coast Anthem"...these two tracks are totally manic and make you want to jump up and down every time, no matter how many times you hear them. I only found out that my prized CD was made by a band called Good Charlotte a few weeks ago when MTV started playing "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous", and the Young and Hopeless album appeared in the shops. I recognised their music, and got very excited at finally knowing the name of my favourite band. Before then, hardly anyone in England had ever heard of Good Charlotte. It's just a pitty that I've only found out who I've been listening to now . . .at a time when all of the punk-wannabe pop-tarts know who GC are too!
The reviews I've read of Good Charlotte all seem to say one thing - that this band is not punk, or even pop-punk - it's pure pop. Don't listen to these people. Sure, a few pop lovers are listening to them, but as soon as the next fashion comes along they will desert their brief dip into the sea of Good Charlotte, Greenday, and whoever else they have discovered, and then GC will be left to their rightfull owners.
What is punk anyway? It's not all about green hair, crap guitar solos (GC's are awesome), and screaming about how much you hate the police. That's trying to hard - which means it's not punk at all. Punk is about singing (yes - Good Charlotte sing instead of shouting) what you know, and not trying to be anyone else. If you're trying to be punk, then you won't be! Think about that for a while!
This band is fantastic, and I hope the real people out there (not the people who only wanna listen to GC coz punk's trendy at the minute) won't be put off by the fact that Lifestyles is on TV and loads of screaming pop-tarts are listening to this album.
I've just bought "The Young and the Hopeless", which is very good, but can't match this album (I'm gonna buy a proper copy of THIS one when I get paid next week). You can rock out to Good Charlotte, jump around and shout at people ("East Coast Anthem", "Festival Song", and "I Heard You" are good tracks for this sort of thing), and if your feeling a bit too calm for all that, you can sit and chill with "Complicated" and the beautiful "Change". I strongly urge you to buy this CD, unless you are one of the afore mentioned pop-tarts, in which case, leave our band alone!

Free Music Review: Awesome!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Little Things - kind of rap-ish, but still awesome. i was on the phone with my best friend once, [she knows I hate rap] and she was just like, "CARA, ARE YOU LISTENING TO RAP?!" once i told her it was GC, she was okay again. - 5/5
WaldorfWorldwide - also a little bit rappy, but still awesome. i loved this song the first time i heard it. the little "tikki tikki" thing at the start really amuses me. i don;t know why, but it's what really made me like this song! okay, i;m easily amused. but it's a great song aside from that too - 5/5
The Motivation Proclamation (sp?) - awesome song, just mainly saying "there's no reason to be depressed, everything's gonna be okay" - 5/5
East Coast Anthem - awesome song! its saying "i cant change how they think, so i;m not changing" love it! - 5/5
Festival Song - also another awesome song, "don't care about a thing today/i used to but im fed up/ and i can hear the words you say/ i wish that you would shut up" definitely fits me! - 5/5
Complicated - when i first saw the title of this song, my first reaction was "oh please, God, don't let this be Avril's complicated!" thank God, it wasn't! this is a WAY better Complicated! - 5/5
Seasons - very definitely a love song that makes me sad 2 b single. when i first heard it, i was crying. don't ask why. but it's a great song - 5/5
I Don't Wanna Stop - basic song bout wanting 2 stop loving someone...typical...but great! - 4/5
I Heard You - coolest song! "today i screwed up again/i wasnt paying attention/ i walked into a wall again" definitely fits me! when they say "I GET THE POINT", my best friend kept thinking they said "LIKE AT THE POOL!" which sounds nothing like i get the point! - 6/5!
The Click. - great song about how they don't fit in, but don't care, they formed theyre own click that accepts them - 5/5!
Walk By - awesome song! me and my best friend have a lot of insiders from this song now! [sushi!] [waffles fly when she walks by] [etc.] - 5/5
Let Me Go - ummm...i dunno...great song! - 4/5
Screamer - great song, fits me relli well - 5/5
Change - also fits me "you said/you can't change the way you feel" - 5/5
Thank You Mom - very sweet song for Benji & Joel's mom, its like a minute after Change - 5/5

Free Music Review: Oh, my God, my God...how do they do it?
Hit: 5 Stars

This is an excellent CD! I am open to any music and this is an incredible CD; not just in the punk rock category. This should have gotten more attention. Here's my rundown:

Little Things- Very nice, all about high school's trials and tribulations. Very real, very cool. 9/10
Waldorf Worldwide- One of my favorites, really funny in some parts, the lyrics are just as catchy as the tune!!! 9/10
Motivation Proclamation- A little overdone, and it's a bit strange. It isn't as hardcore but it's ska and that's the way it is supposed to be. 8/10
East Coast Anthem- Short song, but makes the most of every second. It's about time that the East Coast got some love. I'll give it an extra point 'cause I'm from the East Coast. 10/10
Festival Song- This is really nice! Can someone PLEASE tell me why it is called the Festival Song? Anyhoo, you'll love it no matter what. 9/10
Complicated- I picked up the CD and thought, Avril? But it isn't at all; don't be mislead. It's about the twins' father. Really cool, it lets you look deep in their souls without getting the urge to cry (listen to "Emotionless"). 8/10
Seasons- A band member said that Seasons is about a boy and a girl. It is. Nice song, it's really emo in the beginning but it gets so much better. 10/10
I Don't Wanna Stop- This was on that Toyota (or Ford; can't remember which) commercial a couple years ago. You know...this guy is narrating and at the end you hear "wanna stop". It rocks! 10/10
I Heard You- Punk, punk, punk. It's the kind of song you would hear on Jackass or at a skate park. 10/10
The Click.- This was the Undergrads theme song. It's really nice but it begins to get on your nerves after a looooong time. Still love it. 8/10
Walk By- THIS IS HILARIOUS! Listen to it, oh my gosh. You will be laughing until you the color of badly mixed currant ice cream. 10/10
Let Me Go- Don't know what it is about this song, but I love it dearly. 9/10
Screamer- Insightful. That's all I have to say, figure the rest out. 10/10
Change- Very well-written. My personal favorite, I love the point of this song. It is a beautiful song. Infinity/10. I am not exaggerating.
Bonus: Thank You Mom- Very beautiful and sensitive. Will touch your heart. 10/10
