Free Music Notes for Good Charlotte

Free Music Review: Back When they were good...
Hit: 5 Stars

That new "Chronicles..." album sucks major a**. They totally left behind the high-school pop-punk flavor that made them famous in favor of a cheesy grungerock/nu metal vibe. I wasn't fond of "predictable" when it came out, but I gave the album a chance anyway and it totally let me down. So yeah, to be fair to a band I once loved, I'll write them a good review for a wonderful debut.

Good Charlotte's self-titled debut combines catchy lyrics and melodies with rapid fire guitar and drum work , leaving the listener with 3 minutes (each song) of pure pop-punk bliss. What made this band stand out for me though was fact that their sound wasn't so polished (Like so many Drive-thru pop-punk artists). They really did sound like a band that could be playing on your high-school's blacktop during lunch. It didn't have that production perfection that, like, say NFG has. If your just starting out with GC, whatever you do DON'T buy "The chronicles of Life and Death". Start with their self-titled, and if you like what you hear, move on to other similar artists like Mest and Goldfinger...artists who don't change their styles to please critics and trustfund kids...

Free Music Review: GC!
Hit: 5 Stars

First of all, love it! i think this is a great album and i love all the songs. however, i really wouldn't know punk if it kicked me in the face so i can't tell you if this is punk or not... all i know is that i listen to what i like, and i like this!

Little Things: really catchy and angsty... great!
Waldorfworldwide: great tune
Motivation Proclamation: just a cool chill song with great lyrics
East Coast Anthem: a really fun catchy song
Festival Song: my personal fave, just a great rock song. it's called festival song because it's kinda derived from GC's experiences playing at festivals
Complicated: fun song
Seasons: a great love song
I Don't Wanna Stop: another great love song, a bit more rock and a bit more catchy
I Heard You: i love this one, great lyrics and just a fun song
The Click: another fun catchy song that i love
Walk By: funny lyrics and great song
Let Me Go: great
Screamer: very good lyrics and i just love this one
Change: beautiful... another personal fave

Free Music Review: Still great after 4 years...
Hit: 5 Stars

After owning this CD for almost 4 years, its still fun to listen to today. I remember the first time I heard GC on my local rock station, playing their demo of Little Things. I loved the song, and I wanted their album really bad, but unfortunately they didn't even have a record deal then. That same year I went to a Blink-182 show in Philly, and what do you know, they had GC play as their opening band that night. I'll never forget how much they kicked ass. I met them after that, they were awesome and they gave me a demo of their songs, which also rocks. Eventually they got a record deal after touring with Blink and Lit for awhile. Their a really hated band today, but I think their still awesome and really talented. My only complaint about GC's album is some of the production is sloppy sometimes and it doesn't always sound solid. I wish the drums would be a little bit louder and the vocals a little bit lower too. Those are the only complaints I have though, GC is amazing live. And for you (...) saying their "NSYNC WITH GUITAREZ", get a life, they sound absolutely NOTHING like Nsync whatsoever.
