Being Goth I am subject to many bands who can barely play their instruments, and i love it. Their sessions in which they sit down and write their songs last for about 30 minutes, it is not becuz the songs r no good, but because they ar so good. I was painting my nails and watching mtv the other day when i saw there video from this cd. I was blown away with there skill on guitare. Jumping up and down while playiing the same watered down riff over and over? Amazing. That John Petrucci of Dream Theater plays notes that last for .01 seconds and Steve Vai plays the guitar behind his head, but it is nowere near as good as this. It is not true that this soudns like all the other bands output, and that punk bands today steal our ideas from old bands like the sex pistols. It is entirely original. I have to go because I must go with my friends to loiter at the mall and yell cuss words at everyone who passes. MTV rules.Free Music Review: Chronicles of high school social life

Despite their assertion of relating to the social "outcasts" of middle school and high school the majority of Good Charlotte listeners are in fact not. It is not surprising then that Good Charlotte would attempt to appeal to their fans by mixing their style up a little bit. Their first two albums were by far more punk than pop. This third album has more variety switching from pop to rock to punk every other song or sometimes even within a song. The lyrics are still the same themes, girls and heartbreak for the most part, and if you listen carefully you just might be able to relate to these common teenage dramas of life.
All in all an album worth buying if you're a Good Charlotte fan although it is unbearably annoying to have to pick between the death and life art versions of the same cd. For those that aren't Good Charlotte fans, it is still a worthy listen for the common music lover.

Before I start off, I'd just like to take the time to say that I am a huge Good Charlotte fan and have been since their original self-titled album. I've never really considered Good Charlotte "punk rock," simply because, they aren't. Their a great alternative rock band that makes good music. Anyone who picks up a GC album and thinks their punk rock needs to look into a mirror because their not.
With that said, I am going to have to say that this is the best Good Charlotte album yet. The Young and The Hopeless was a great album in itself and a very hard title to top, but yet, Good Charlotte has indeed topped it. With strong songs like S.O.S, Walk Away (Maybe), Mountain, Ghost of You, Secrets and Predictable, how can an album like this possibly be bad? Each song is filled with great locals and melodies and in my opinion is going to be a tough album for Good Charlotte to top.

The songs are all great. The instrumental isn't that great, but this CD is their best yet. I do hope to see more from them. Joel's singing is great,Benji and Billy are doing awesome on guitars,Paul is a nice addition to the band, and Chris definently has a thing for drums.The lyrics are amazing, and here's a first: Billy wrote a song("Ghost of you")!!! He also drew the artwork in the CD jacket. It turned out great! Buy this CD. You definently won't regret it.

Hit: 5 Stars Good Charlotte really out did themselves this time.This album has awesome tracks.I don't really get why they have Once upon A time:The battle of life and death, but it is a really cool track.
My fave is S.O.S.! It has such a weird tune to it I thought it was gonna be the worst song! I love how they switch tunes right in the middle! The world is black is awesome too. I bought life version and really love it. I just wanna live is so freakish with the chorus. It's hard not to sing along! Walk away is hard to walk away from. Predictable is sweet! The first two are cool too. I got their first one first second second third third! I hope they release a fourth album! I think secrets and the truth should be on the first album! Walk by and let me go should be on this one. I would love secrets and truth if they were on the first album. Buy this well it's cheap!
