Free Music Notes for The Young and the HopelessFree Music Review: No One Ever Said They Were "Punk" Hit: 5 Stars
Good Charlotte is one of the best bands out there. They`ve worked so hard to be where they are now and they deserve all the credit. Before I give my review I just have a question...who officaly said GC was "Punk"? I see everyone saying "OH GC sucks because its not real punk" NO ONE EVER SAID THEY WERE! If they didn`t dress the way they did they would probally be in the pop/rock catagory. No matter what genre they are the still rock!1.A New Beginning-4/5-Nice intoduction to the CD. You really can here they insrumental talent through this piece. 2.The Anthem-6/5-Deff. one of the best songs. Great meaning and its just a great song to listen to! 3.Lifestyles Of The Rich & Famous-5/5-Nice first single. It kinda gets old after the millionth times played, but still an awesome song! 4.Wondering-5/5-Nice tempo. Benji said it was about his dog...but neverless still a great song to the album. 5.The Story Of My Old Man-4/5-Good song, not great but good. One of the weaker songs I think on the CD. The songs basically about their life and how their dad wasn`t around. 6.Girls & Boys-5/5-Awesome song! Very upbeat with great lyrics. "Girls don`t like boys girls like cars and money..." 7.My Bloody Valentine-7/5-One of my favorite songs on the CD! Joel and Benji wrote this song based on a book about loving someone so much you would kill their lover just to be with them. It`s one of the best songs! 8.Hold On-10/5-This song has so much meaning to it. "Hold on if you feel like letting go, hold on it gets better then you know". They wrote this in response to all the fan letters they get about peoples lifes they`ve changed and kept alive. This is one of my other favorite songs. 9.Riot Girl-5/5-AWESOME SONG! Deff. one of the more rock on the albulm. Great guitar sound and vocals. 10.Say Anything-4/5-After you listen to this song for a while it begins to grow on you. First couple times of listening to it I wasn`t the enthused. But now after having the CD for a few months is a great song. A little slower, but still good. 11.They Day That I Die-4.5/5-Nice song. Nice chours and just a great song all around. 12.The Young and Hopeless-9/5-Deff. my favorite song. Awesome meaning and one of the more rock songs. GREAT SONG! 13.Emotionless-5/5-Sadest song on the CD. It`s about how Joel and Benjis dad left, and how they still miss him and how they forgive him. Deff. a song alot of people can relate to. A simple slow song but still great. 14.Movin` On-5/5-A great ending to the albulm. Catchy chours and awesome sound to the piece. Good Charlotte Is... Free Music Review: The Young And The Hopeless Hit: 5 Stars
Good Charlotte's 2 album The Young And The Hopeless is an album that teeny boppers, cheerleaders, preps ect. listen to and label it "the best album ever!". I'm none of those things and it's not the best album ever. Good Charlotte are not punk, even though they might look like it. People just bash them because this band is not up to their standerds of "punk". If they just listened to the album they will notice that the musicianship is quite good, and that the lyrics go a lot deeper then most people would expect. Here's a review of the all the songs:A New Begining- An intro that's about 1:45 seconds long. Their's no singing, just very fast paced drums and drums. I listen to it sometimes, but is worth skipping. The Anthem- Great song. I can relate to what they are saying because I was never in the "in" crowd. One of the band's most popular songs. Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous- Good song, just like The Anthem. It's been overplayed a lot...maby a little to much, but is good either way. Wondering- Good song as well...I like to play my drums along to it. Story Of My Old Man- About Benji and Joel's dad and how he left them. Very fast song. Catchy too. Girls And Boys- At first I didn't like this song. But then it grew on me. The video for it is also great. Bloody Valentine- This is one of my favorite songs on the album. It's supposed to based on Egar Allen Poe's story The Tell-Tale Heart. Hold On- One of Good Charlotte's deeper songs on the album. It's about all the letters that GC has recieved over the years and the song is telling fans to "hold on if you feel like letting go". Riot Girl- The next fast song on the album. The lyrics are kind of cheesy, but it's catchy all the same. Good song to rock out to. Say Anything- Probably the worst song on the album. The song is slow, and get's repeitive. The lyrics are great though. Day That I Die- The drums are not that great. Not the best. The Young And The Hopeless- The title track to this album. The best song on the album. "All these critics and these trust fund kids try to tell me what punk is, but when I see them on the street they've got nothin' to say"...classic. Emotionless- Another song about Benji and Joel's dad. Goes a lot deeper then My Old Man. This one basically tells all about what they went through right after their dad left them. Great accoustic song and singing from Benji. Movin' On- The last song and a great ending song. Joel's telling the listener that even all he and Benji have through they are moving on. So overall, this album is great. I relate to almost all of Good Charlotte's songs. I never got into this band because they got popular, I got into them because I loved their music, and I thought the members had a lot of talent. Isen't that all that matters? Of course it does...don't be stupid!
Free Music Review: Not as bad as i thought Hit: 5 Stars
hmmmm......if you're an avid rock fan ...this cd isn't for you...seriously...that's why i detested it from the beginning then i slowly started listening to it over and over again and well the cd rocks on....yes rocks....just hear me out for a secTheir first cd was craptastic...i mean...they sounded like wanna be hip-hop punk dudes. i mean you can't put that together man.. "cuz i can't stop now, cuz i won't stop now" wtf....come on..try originality for a change but they surprised me on their 2nd second...i thought i was going to have to get a refund but i'm happy i purchased this cd. its way more mature and the lyrical content is more advanced than the good charlotte we knew before.. 1. A New Begining - well...i now really looked at the title so ya..its just an intro..interesting intro tho.. 2. The Anthem - yhis song got annoying on the radio, so its not one of my favs...but the lyrics are well thought out tho.. 3. Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous - too true this song...the rich are always complaining..maybe i sshould change it so they have nothing to complain about... 4. Wondering - hmm...listen to it...very good song..very touching... 5. The Story of My Old Man - veyr interesting..i can relate to it..its just that my dad never drank but he did leave so...equivalent... 6. Girls and Boys - this song is too poppy but hey..catchy beat and lyrics... 7. My Bloody Valentine - this one is kinda freaky..still trying to figure out what the hell went on during the writing... 8. Hold On - GC does it again...this song should be the anthem..love it..talks about suicide and keeps kids grounded and tryt o send out the message that well, they should "hold on" 9. Riot Girl -kinda childish..talking about the girl they want...appearently they want a "riot girl, that's angry at the world"..not very insightful but hey.. 10. Say Anything - now i was confused when i arrived at this song because they have a previous song talking about "i'm happy wondering" and now they say "say anything" ..i was like "i thought you were happy wondering..." wtf you know? 11. The Day That I Die - this song is interesting... 12. The Young and the Hopeless - again just a song that every teen can relate to. very insightful..very well thought out..magnificent lyrics.. 13. Emotionless - this song is very sadistic..if that's the word..well thought out lyrics again..and performed well.talks about their father and such... 14. Movin On - good song..not the best but great anyway. so that's all i have to say..there isn't anymore but this "buy the cd...you won't regret it"
Free Music Review: misunderstood Hit: 5 Stars
this CD is one of my favorites. its annoying how people say their sellouts, cuz its not like they went up to the MTV studio and demanded that they play their songs. and if their lyrics weren't good, how could they persuade many people to not do something as drastic as committe sucide with "Hold On"? i also find it funny that people go out of their way to give a band a bad review, not to mention they don't even know anything about them. and i don't just like them because of their looks! and i like the whole band, not just Joel & Benji. anyways, about the CD. heres a review of the songs:1)A New Beginning: an instrumental. it's ok. 2)The Anthem: on of my favorites on the CD. its basically telling you that you don't have to follow the crowd and do whatever is "cool" 3)Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous: this song is true. alot of celebrities and rich people get away with alot because they have the money. a really good song. 4)Wondering: another one of my favorite songs on the CD. its basically a love song, saying you'll do whatever is possible for them. really good song! 5)The Story of My Old Man: this song is about Joel & Benji's dad, telling the story him. one of my favorites. 6)Girls and Boys: well, this is probably my least favorite song on the album, but it's still a great song. it is true got alot of girls like fancy and expensive cars. (not all though) 7)My Bloody Valentine: another love song. this is an awsome song! 8)Hold On: this is a song that saved many lives. it's telling you to just hold on a little longer and something good will happen. some words: "Hold on if you feel like letting go. Hold on it gets better than you know. Don't stop looking, you're one step closer. Don't stop searching, it's not over. Hold on." 9)Riot Girl: a song about a girlfriend that likes riots! this is a high energy song. good song! 10)Say Anything: another love song, and one of the best love songs on the CD. it's a little slow, but in a good way. 11)The Day That I Die: a really good song! its about life in general. 12)The Young and the Hopeless: i LOVE this song!! it's the darkest song on the album, and it's one of the best. 13)Emotionless: a really slow song but it's SO good. it's all about their dad, saying for all the things he did in the past, they miss him. it's on an acoustic guitar. 14)Movin' On: an awsome song about your random everyday things. the chorus goes: "Life, hope, truth, trust, faith, pride, love, lust, pain, hate, lies, guilt, laugh, cry, live, die. Some friends become enemies, some friends become your family. Make the best with what your givin, this aint dyin, this is livin."
Free Music Review: My best CD of all time! Hit: 5 Stars
I have reviewed this before, but I cannot get over how this CD is so good. I cannot believe this is getting so many negative reviews. I bet some of those reviewers haven't even heard the album, and they've only heard one song and decided to critizize them. Anyway, this album is just so good, every song but one is a winner, and I will prove it...A new beginning: There isn't any words to this song, but it's a good track. It starts with some sort of ballet music, but it sudden;y turns into really hard, fast rock music. Cool intro. 4/5 The anthem: The opening "real" track is great. Quite a catchy and fast song with lots of good guitar riffs. 5/5 Lifestyles of the rich and the famous: Similar to "The anthem" but better. The drumming is excellent, the guitar in the verses is great to. A sort of song anyone would listen to. 5/5 Wondering: A bit of a slower song, but it's still a catchy track. It's all about their dog. 4/5 Story of my old man: One of the more ctachier tracks on the album. It's a fast song, but it does change its style. 5/5 Girls and boys: Good guitar playing on this, also with a little clapping between each riff. Yet again, another catchy track, and one of the best on the album. 5/5 My bloody valentine: A very dark, more gothic track. It will make you think about murder. It's also quite scary too. 4/5 Hold on: Maybe the slowest track on the album. But it's one of my favourites. It's quite relaxing, until it reaches the chorus. 5/5 Riot girl: This is the song I don't really like. It's fast-paced, but it easily gets annoying. Bad lyrics too. 2.5/5 Say anything: Another slow-paced song, but it's another favourite. Joel's singing on this is really good. It's very similar to "Hold on". 5/5 The day that I die: This song makes you think a little it and it tells you life should be taken seriously. Good chorus. 4/5 The young and the hopeless: The title track is arguably my favourite on the album. Maybe the hardest on the album, with good lyrics and... just an awesome song. 5+/5 Emotionless: The only proper acoustic song on the album. Very meaningful and sad. All about their dad, who left the two brother's from the band. 5/5 Movin' on: This ties with "the young and...". The song on the album with the best lyrics and a hardrock chorus. A great way to end an album. 5+/5 So, don't be too concerned about Good Charlotte being punk. Their music isn't seriously punky, but it is catchy stuff and very energetic. I'd buy it if you're an alternative rock music fan.
