Free Music Notes for Demon DaysFree Music Review: Interesting music, smart band Hit: 5 Stars
First off if you really, really, really like feel good inc be prepared for a potential let down, no two songs on the album fit the same mold and many of the songs on the album are much weirder than it (and in my eyes better). Also once you by the album you will realize that the band is less a hip-hop(/a hole lot of other things) group because of the rap, but more because of the sampling and electronic aspects. In listening to the album I can see that the band is really quite smart. They have "feel good inc", "dirty Harry", and, "dare" which are all good songs but are very radio friendly. Then they have songs like "kids with guns", "Oh green world", and "November has come" which are, well, weird. However, I like weird music and it is rare that I like a group that hits the top of the charts. I came to this group due to it's similarities with Mr. Bungle (although small they may be) and through hearing that they had worked with Del the funky homosapian, so keep in mind that I might just like different music than you.
Free Music Review: Gorillaz - Demon Day Hit: 5 Stars
Before the Gorillaz - Demon Days CD came out, I heard the popular song "Feels Good Inc" on the C89.5 station and it was simply addicting! I would keep going to yahoo.com to search for their video so I can hear that song. Overall, this CD left me lip syncing at work and in the car.
When I got the CD, I didn't know how great their music sounded. Some of the tracks took a while to grown on however the beats and guest singers are great.
I can't even describe their genre. They have such a mix of rock, rap, dance, and gothic-like feel. Some songs are chilling, upbeat, funky, and have their climatic movements. Whatever it is, the compilation of everything makes their debut unique.
The best and catchy songs I thought were: Dirty Harry, Feels Good Inc, and Dare. (Not in any particular order).
I'm not saying go out and buy the CD...but you've got to give this CD a chance. I never knew its effect on me until I put it in my cd player...It's great.
Free Music Review: One of the best albums I've heard in years, no foolin'! Hit: 5 Stars
Ok, let me start off by saying this. If you're expecting something like "Punk" or "M1A1" from their self-titled debut, this isn't what you're looking for. Nevertheless, this album is still great. Danger Mouse does a great job of giving Demon Days a different feel, yet still having that Gorillaz style of being different. Some tracks can go through about 3 or 4 styles in about 3 or 4 minutes, leaving you guessing of what's coming up next. It has elements of violins, synth pop, hip-hop, funk, drum & bass, choir, a tad bit of bossanova, and about any other genre, sub-genre, and such combined into a melting pot of cool. The album overall has a more matured sound to it than the previous. They even have Dennis Hopper doing a monologue on "Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey's Head". This album is about as close to perfect as you're going to get this summer, fall, winter, and so on. Already in my top 10 of favorite albums.
Highly suggested for just about anyone. Wait, no, everyone.
Free Music Review: My all time favorite ... Hit: 5 Stars
I am not going to post an elaborate review on this album considering 300+ people have already weighed in. With that said, this album is truly a top addition to any collection. Damon Albarn is a genius. He has fused together a talented group of people and done an exceptional job piecing together special guest performers. This album is truly an innovative art work, piecing together electronic, pop, some rock and alternative, and hip-hop. In addition, there is tons of extras that go along with this album - which further develops the world's first and most successful digital group. What a story.
From this album alone I have discovered many new artists and bands ...
- Del the Funkee Homosapien
- MF Doom
- Danger Mouse
- Blur
- The Good, The Bad & The Queen
- The Clash
and the list goes on and on ....
Oh yeah, every song on this album is 5 stars.

Free Music Review: The Gorillaz Second Coming! Hit: 5 Stars
Finally! Thats what i wanna say first off. I been into gorillaz since before Clint Eastwood dropped because Im heavily into Blur and follow Damon Albarn's material like a mad man. People mentioned the whole possibilty of a sophomore slump, which is rediculous! Damon Albarn is no stranger to making hits, he's a damn genius. All that aside, this album completely blows away my expectations. All songs will one by one day by day each become your favourite, because thats how Albarn's music is. But right off the bat, the first ones I took to were "Kids with Guns" (this track has a sample of salt n pepa's "push it" which will send chills up) then its "Dirty Harry" and "DARE", if you pay a little more for the version with the dvd then youll likely enjoy the track on there called THE SWAGGA. Any way you slice it, this is a great album that any one can fall in love with. Do yourself a favor and buy it. Rock it in your car, ipod, cd player, whatever. Dont let yourself miss it.
