Free Music Review: My G-Sides Review

The second Gorillaz album, called G-Sides, is one rockin' album. It contains 3 remixes, as well as six songs from various Gorillaz singles. Two of the remixes are from 19/2000, and the other is a new Clint Eastwood version. It may have only nine tracks, and last less than 40 minutes, but that's not important. The best part about this album is its sound. Its beats rock, and I think that no one can argue with it. I love every song on G-Sides, even "Hip Albatross" and "12D3". I think Faust has the best sound and vocals by Noodle(Miho Hatori), and 2-D(Damon Albarn). My favorite tracks on the CD are "19/2000(Soulchild Remix)", "The Sounder", "Faust", "Clint Eastwood(Phi Life Cypher Version)", and "19/2000(The Wiseguys House of Wisdom Re-Mix)". But before any kid can owm this awesome album, their parent(s) or guardian(s) should listen to each song, and see if it's safe to listen to. It will come as no surprise to fans of the Gorillaz that this CD with enhanced videos is superb to say the least.The songs from the "Gorillaz" CD are all re-vamped and revved up. The Phi Life Cypher re-mix of "Clint Eastwood" is phenomenal...it's Clint as it should be,... rambling about Star Wars.
"Faust" which can be found on another B-Side is worth it with the beefed up boost and then there is "Ghost Train" which was from the "Rock the House" single CD and has been placed upon this for your listening pleasure.
The Wiseguys (of the Mistubishi "put the body in motion" commercial fame) finish up the re-mix mayhem with the most mind-boggling redux of 19-2000...I know, I know just how many times can they re-do that and make it work? Well, at least once more ...AND HOW!
This is the Gorillaz on a case of Red Bull....and I like it!

Free Music Review: If you love the first one, you'll love this one

I just bought this one this afternoon - if you think you're better off downloading mp3s of the songs listed in this album - you're missing a lot of things.1. The CD sleeve alone is worth the price. Jamie Hewlett's art simply rocks, and the thick multi-page format is better than the one in their first album.
2. The videos: you get Tomorrow Comes Today and Rock The House - crispy clean with no MTV logo hanging in the window.
3. Awesome remixes - if you love their debut CD - this one's taking it to the edge.
I'd give this 6 stars if there's such a thing.

If you want more and it doesnt bother you that this is a remix rather than totally original album this spin is a purchase. The band has so much talent that even though you are getting new versions of old songs, they are so dissimilar you will be pleased -- Always wanted to hear Latin Simone in english? Wanted to see what a more traditional hiphopper than Del would do with Clint Eastwood? Always wanted to hear Miko Hatori sing Disco? Well, go ahead: get the cool, get the cool shoeshine.I just wish more remix albums were this different from the originals.

If you're a Gorillaz fan this is a must buy. I loved the first cd and when I heard that this was a cd of song that weren't chosen for the first one, I expected a below average preformance. But to my surprise, I was delighted by this fantastic track that in my opinion is better than the first. The 19-2000 remix is great, and songs like Ghost Train and 12D3, will make believers of those who may have thought the Gorillaz to be a one hit wonder with Clint Eastwood. Truely the Gorillaz are one of the most exciting group in music today.
