Free Music Notes for Gorillaz

Free Music Review: Amazing
Hit: 5 Stars

I like this album alot better than Demon Days. Not to say Demon Days was bad, but this is definitely Gorillaz best.

Free Music Review: Sleeepy... getting... sleeeepy...
Hit: 4 Stars

After falling in love with Demon Days this past spring, I was pretty much required to give this album a chance as well. And, while not as satisfying a listen as Demon Days, I was still glad I did.

This album is certainly spread across a larger variety of sounds than its successor. It opens with an indie vibe and moves through a series of reggae, hip-hop, punk, rock, electronica, and stoner derivatives. This, like always, is a strength and a weakness at the same time. Lots of variety means it doesn't risk getting boring, but it also means you have to be in a more tolerant mood to listen to the whole thing in one sitting.

I would have to say that this album's best moments are the tired, half-stoned melodic tunes such as "Tomorrow Comes Today," "New Genius," "Sound Check," "Double Bass," "Starshine," and "Slow Country." "5/4" has a mischevious swagger that stands out as well, and of course the funky "Clint Eastwood" deserves a mention.

Unfortunately, Del's drunk Rainman rapping style which compliments "Clint Eastwood" so well stumbles gracelessly all over "Rock tha House." Even though the trumpet and flute melodies are pretty cool, I just have a hard time wading through the awkward rapping and PG-rated party lyrics. If there's a single song I skip on this album, it's this one.

Even with that low point, this is still worth buying in my opinion. Easygoing pop and hip-hop tunes with enough musical maturity and sentimental value to greatly lengthen its shelf life - but not so self-important as to turn off the casual listener. And it only got better after this...

Free Music Review: I've got 5 reasons why you should buy dis CD.
Hit: 3 Stars

1. Clint Eastwoood
2. 19-2000
3. Rock The House
4. Tomorrow Comes Today
and numba 5. New Genious

Those are all da good songs IMO. No....wait, don't buy this album like I did, instead go and download the songs you like. Don't waste 13 dollars on this album. CUz I wasted 10. HAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

Free Music Review: Gigantically Awful
Hit: 1 Stars

Yep; I think that just about says it all. I tried numerous times to listen to this drivel but all I found myself doing was hitting "next" on my CD player. Hip hop? Funky? New Age? Believe me--this CD is none of the above. Don't waste your money or your time.

Free Music Review: Incredible Album, However Not As Good As Demon Days
Hit: 4 Stars

The Gorillaz are going to be the first band to do this ausom techno/rap/rock mix and we will be playing music like this for the next 50 or so years. Absalutely amazing. I bought Demon Days first, and then decided that I'd go back and buy their other albums because I loved their other stuff so much. It isn't true that Clint Eastwood is the Only good song on the album, in my opinion it's all good, Clint Eastwood is just a high point.

Please Disregard any 1 star reviews, they obviously have no taste and can't understand how amazing this band is.

It's like 21st Century Pink Floyd. You either understand and love it, or just can't quite seem to love it, if you can't, that's ok, I respect your opinion, but don't go and trash them online, they're a good band that are changing lives with their new style of music.

again, amazing, not as good as Demon Days, but still great.
