Free Music Review: Can't descride it
Hit: 5 Stars

Okay, lets see...I was at camp, and it was time to pack up, and everyone started singing "Clint Eastwood" (and they killed it. There are only four [cartoon] people who can sing it without killing it) I said "What kind of song is THAT! Whoed make that kind of song!" and the said "Gorillaz" Then I saw the CD at my friends house and played it and it wasa great! My dad got it for my brother, becouse it's not as, um, dirty as some other CDs. Not clean, but not that dirty either. Song 17 is Clint Eastwood played super fast. Oh, and I've heard people telling me the meaning of life, but I couldn't understand it. These guys have a clear definitoin: "to go for what the definition of what life is" They're right! I never thought about it! Anyways, some songs are just silly (Dracula) Some songs are creepy (M1A1, "HELLO, IS ANYONE THERE?!!") Gravity keeps switching from nice and calm ("grav-it-t-t-t-ty...") to HARD! ("DON'T GET ME DOWN!!!") Me and my brother made an inside joke about Clint Eastwood. (It involves a camp prank)

Ah yes, Gorillaz, the breakthrough sound of a musical decade slowly turning to crap. Gorillaz, I must say, are an excellent collaboration of musicians from all different spectrums of the musical scene. With blends of alternative, "zombie hip-hop", dance, melodious grooves, and depressive slurs, Gorillaz have found a sound that has been absent from the charts for quite some time. I grew up with Seattle grunge, so I am not a fan of hip-hop or rap, but when I heard the single, "Clint Eastwood," I was immediately hooked with it's catchy chorus. And that is by far not the best song on the album, and I would be hard pressed to even classify a best song. Another excellent point for this group is that, right now anyway, they are not getting much airplay in the states, which makes them even more genuine and not under-appreciated for just one single. I am currently living in Germany, and they are quite big over here, so I am grateful for being exposed to this fantastic four and their unique sound they supply.

Free Music Review: It's About Time for the Pendulum to Swing Back
Hit: 5 Stars

Hip-hop's getting boring. Rock's getting boring. Everything's getting boring a la 1989 with Milli Vanilli and C+C Dance Factory being replayed by Nsync and all that other crap out there. THIS ALBUM IS NOT BORING. It's the first new band I've tried that I sat and listened to the entire CD the night I put it in. I saw the video (Clint Eastwood) and being a Flash designer, graphic artist and Clint Eastwood fan, I dug the it! (Although, there is no cartoon Clint in the video). The animation rocks. But, being a musician, I also heard the groovy beat and reverbed harmonica and thought, wow, this is great. I picked up on the Blur connection when I heard the first song - good acoustic guitar. The second half of the album gets a little weak, but it ends strong. Think "It's a Wonderful Life" (Buffalo girl won't you come out tonight) for the tune of track 17 - Left Hand Suzuki Method. I hope this doesn't get overplayed 'cause my friends think I've found the score of the summer. Shh - don't tell anyone! :)

Free Music Review: I ain't Happy, I'm Feeling Glad
Hit: 5 Stars

If you are looking for a CD full of songs like Clint Eastwood, with smooth beats, intelligent rap lyrics, and an infectious hook, then you should look elsewhere. If you like music that pushes the envelope, and is delightful and new everytime it is in your cd player, then you should definatly pick this up. Even though Del tha Funkee Homosapien is only on 2 tracks, this defiantly has an underground hip-hoppy feel throughout the whole album, mostly due to Dan the Automater Nakamura. It seems as if each song has so many different aspects to it, its not a question of best song, but best part, and for me that would be the beginning of M1 A1, with a horror movie voice repeating HELLO? IS ANYONE THERE? over and over. The whole CD transgresses all varities of music, and does each one expertly. I am reminded of everyone from the Beatles to Eric B. (who's still president).
I highly recommend this CD for all fans of MUSIC, i.e. not anyone signed to Jive and I look forward to the TV show.

Free Music Review: Carttons, Brits and Monkeys, what more can you ask for?
Hit: 5 Stars

With a small cult forming around them, (I admit I am a member myself), it is impossible not to like Gorillaz. Beginning as a side project from Blur frontman, Gorillaz has evolved into something much more. Edgy Radiohead-esque lyrics and a successful combination of electronica and alternative, listening to Gorillaz is an expeirence and trance then just any old CD (sitting naked in the bathtub...nevermind). Also, if you have nothing else to do while listening to the albumn, I recomend taking a look at the booklet because it has hilarious graphics and sketches of the fictious members of the band, my personal favorite is Murdoc: the snarl-toothed Brit and gothic bass player. With a distinct urban vibe, this is definetly not for any of you suburbanites out there. In conclusion, this self-titled albumn is a worthy buy and great listen, and if you do purchase it I hope you get sucked into the world of Gorrilaz just like I did. Go Gorillaz!...hey that reminds me of a song.
