I first got interested in Gowan's music back in 1985 when I saw the "A Criminal Mind" music video. Since then I have accumulated all his albums as a solo artist and now with Styx.
If you are just getting into Gowan and you're coming from the Styx-world, I would definitely recommend this album to you. It has some hard rocking songs, somewhat atypical of his more-popular subsequent albums. Still, there are some strong numbers there.
For those of you who are into his more melodic style, I still recommend this album, especially for the song "I Was Only Looking". It's a highly underrated song that should have been released as a single, but never was.
