Free Music Review: Amado Mio, Grace, with your Killer Kiss

This is a wonderful album. I don't understand people who were "disappointed" with this music. If you're a Grace Jones fan, you're going to love this album, period, as I'm sure you love all of Grace Jones music for what it is: wonderful, edgy, campy, silly, and sometimes (sorry, Grace) dorky.
It goes without saying, I think, that the songs on this album are great. Yes, this is a LOOOOOONG way from her 70s disco-era tunes. Personally, I think these are MUCH better. The songs have a gorgeous sound. Her voice is in perfect condition. Not since "Slave to the Rhythm" has it sounded this good.
"Kicked Around" is a one of my favorite songs on this album. It is the perfect, "pull your head out of your butt and put your life back together" song. "Amado Mio" is a glorious, haunting song that makes me think of her as a blood-sucking, though deathly beautiful vampire. It is a gem at the end of this album. It is vintage Grace Jones uniqueness, as are many other tracks.
Everything else is perfect, too. This album is a product of the 80s, and is purely 80s music, but that makes the album all the more fun. Some tracks lack some of the freshness of her other music, but they are still great.
If you like Grace Jones, you should like this album. If you don't, don't call yourself a fan of Grace Jones because you're not. Sorry if that's harsh, but I'm sure Grace feels the same way.
