Free Music Review: Great Jamming
Hit: 4 Stars

This being the first dicks pick its very, very solid. Disc 1 starts off with Sunshine, very standard. The Big River is very nice and has some energy to it. The Jamming in Weather Report Suite and Playing in the Band is just awesome. Phil's bass could have been a little more in the mix but nonetheless the sound quality on this pick is very good.
Disc 2 starts off with He's Gone which leads into a nice Truckin'. The first Jam on here is what makes this Pick worth buying, its fantastic. After the short (2 minute) The other one, it leads into another Jam which is really just Feedback. Good Stella Blue and decent Around and Around.
All in all this is a good pick; it is from a great time period in Dead history and the sound quality is just dandy.

Free Music Review: Dick's Picks vol. one
Hit: 4 Stars

This is the release that got me into the Dead. I'm 32, and have only recently become a Deadhead. Forget the drugs and the hippies, this music will blow you away if you are into album rock. It's no false claim when people say that their live stuff is better than their studio releases! As of now, there are 34 Dick's Picks, and they're all good. Also, there are about fifteen or so other live CD's from the vault that are not part of their "main" discography, with no repetition whatsoever!

Free Music Review: Seemed like a strange place to start...
Hit: 4 Stars

The choice of music for the first Dick's Picks release was somewhat confusing for most Dead Heads I think. It IS good, and the sound quality is excellent - but I think most people's lists would have had other dates at the top. (Plus, it's edited a bit - a bass solo Phil Lesh didn't like was just faded out.) Is it worth listening to? Absolutely! The opening Here Comes Sunshine is worth the price alone... Free Music Review: volume one
Hit: 3 Stars

There are much better volumes around, however it is somewhat of a novelty worth adding to you collection. I mean how is it a collection without the first volume? should be 3.5 stars
