Free Music Review: A very pleasant surprise

I got a very pleasant surprise when this CD arrived in the mail.
Back in the 80's, a friend and I used to get together every Monday night to listen to and record the Deadhead Hour in the Bay Area.
One Monday night, they featured some of the very best Grateful Dead music I had ever heard. The show featured the following songs: Playing in the Band, into Uncle John's Band, into Morning Dew, back into Uncle John's Band, and finally, back into Playing in the Band.
The sequence of songs was absolutely sublime, some of the best Grateful Dead jams I have heard to this day. All in all, about 50 minutes of heaven.
The problem was that there was quite a storm that night, so the radio reception was poor, resulting in a horrible tape of the show. For all of these years, I never expected to hear a quality version of that jam.
Lo and behold, when I checked out my new Dick's Picks CD, there were the songs! (Goes to show my excellent attention to details)
The songs are just as good today as they were 25 years ago. Oh yeah, the rest of the album is not too shabby. ;)
